Information Technology (IT) has great impacts on learning, and offers learning higher possibility of autonomy and social cooperation. Traditional learning theory couldn't well explain IT environment, transformation from information to knowledge, interactive mechanism between individual and group, emotional and cultural value influence on Learning under rich technique status. Synergistic Learning, via deeply inspecting relationships between information and knowledge, between individual and group in the learning process, comes up with learning mechanism and key factor under IT environment, and a delicate analysis framework with microscopic maneuverability under macroscopic view such as learning whole field, which laid theoretical foundation for effective mode design and environment development for teaching.According to Synergistic Learning, learners should be provided with effective synergistic environment and toolkit support under IT based teaching environment. This paper further develops Synergistic Learning, via testifying the feasibility and effectiveness of Synergistic Learning, by instructional and empirical test of synergistic learning environment, which probes into learning modes under IT support.This paper, with constructing Synergistic Learning software system as the objective, utilizes existing research output and theoretical inquiry, via iterations from theoretical exploration, technical mapping, system development, to pilot project, which improves software and perfects Synergistic Learning for finally system application. This paper is illustrated in five parts.Partâ… , via illustration of the related concepts of cooperation, collaboration, learning community, defines Synergistic Learning, differentiates it from similar concepts, and introduces theoretical foundation for reference of system follow-up design. Part II, from software system design perspective, probes into existing theories of Synergistic Learning, introduces "working memory" and "iteration reflection" principles, improves original meta-mode and principles of Synergistic Learning, establishes three phases of Synergistic Learning process, and thus realizes technical mapping of it.Part III, illustrates design foundation and principles of Synergistic Learning System, makes principal architecture construction and flow design for it, and analyzes toolkit oriented at each phase of Synergistic Learning. This part meanwhile puts forward critical technical issue of constructing Synergistic Learning System, which is coupling learning tools with system, data transportation between learning tools, and finally solves technical problems in system construction via definition of Learning tools, basic structure and data transportation specification.Part IV, according to system design of the previous part, illustrates technical architecture and implements Synergistic Learning System Toolkit (SLTK), which includes background management module, learning toolkit suite and foreground learning module.Partâ…¤, illustrates two demonstrative experiments of SLTK in Harbin Normal University and Shanghai Normal University. This part analyzes the cause of the 1 st experiment's failure, solves the deficiency in system function and teaching design. At the following 2nd experiment involvement of students'learning initiative, refined teaching design, perfection of system function guarantees the success, which to the certain extent demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of Synergistic Learning.
