With development of modern science and technology, and breakthroughs of medical science which represented by the study of human genome project, a new round of medical revolution is coming. Medical model's change, the concept of the proposed five-star doctors and the problems of ecological imbalance and population aging etc, all promote the development of senior medical personnel training and hospital's discipline.In the hospital disciplines instruction, clinical disciplines are the most important technical resources and the most concentrated and active parts in the endogenous resources.As excellent groups, doctor of medicine (M.D.) authorized disciplines are strategic units which carry heavy work of teaching, research and clinical works. They are not only the depots of high quality talents and high level outcomes, but also important mark of school academic standards and popularity.In recent years, with the continuous development of higher medical education, our current graduate education is in a period of rapid development. It is mainly in two aspects: first, the quantity of degree authorization points grow rapidly. Second, the graduate training scope is extending constantly. Therefore, in order to strengthen management of graduate education, the government issued a series of documentations of strengthening the degree and graduate education evaluation, set up and improved the evaluation institutions of graduate education, and regularly launched a nationwide evaluation of degree and graduate education. It seems that evaluation of degree and graduate education has caused widespread concern.M.D. authorized discipline's evaluation is an important tool for disciplines instruction and management in the medical university and its aim is to achieve the objective of "Evaluation promotes constructions and evaluation integrates with constructions". Therefore, this study has very important meanings in understanding the influential factors of M.D. authorized discipline construction, strengthening discipline management, ensuring the quality of training graduate students, improving discipline construction and sustainable development.Procedures and Methods: First, according to the status quo of discipline evaluation, combined with the actual situation of my university's M.D. authorized discipline construction, a first draft of comprehensive evaluation indicator system of M.D. authorized discipline was carried out based on the facts from pertinent literature. And then, 9 experts were selected to visit to revise that draft and identify the research's methodology, objectives and content. Next, the above-mentioned indicator system was revised again and perfected through 2 rounds of consultation by 22 experts from 6 army and the local medical universities with methods of work breakdown objectives (WBO), classification & combination, analytical hierarchy process (AHP), an expert ordering, etc. Based on that indicator system, questionnaires of M.D. authorized disciplines situation were designed to apply to 23 disciplines of two medical universities to make self-evaluation, and then, 8 experts were invited to evaluate those disciplines situations. Next, that indicator system was carried out a linear regression analysis, dependability and differentiation test by using evaluation results. Meanwhile, the reliability and validity of that evaluation results was tested also. Finally, the main problems in disciplines constructions were identified and the development strategy of cardiology branch and the development process of burn and infection branch were analyzed. Based on that, the M.D. authorized disciplines'construction strategies were raised in this study.Results: (1) In this research, one integrated evaluation indicator system of clinical M.D. authorized disciplines has been established. The first level indexes are 4: academic team, personnel training, scientific research and training environment. The second level indexes are 11: Ph.D. mentor, talents structure, students situation, cultivate measures, promotion, cultivate level, research direction and issues, scientific and technological achievements and patents, laboratory conditions, work environment and the ideological construction. The third indexes are 37. (2) This research formulates three levels indexes and four level scoring criteria of that. (3) The weights of different levels of indicator were determined. (4) A set of effective statistical detection methods was provided to test the scientific nature of indicator system. (5) A set of simplified method of indicator system were summarized by indicator system linear regression analysis. (6) Main problems in current clinical M.D. authorized disciplines are identified, such as the aging of the academic team, problems in graduate studying, few achievements in scientific research and teaching, the lack of high quality SCI articles, etc. (7) The development strategy of cardiology branch and the development process of burn and infection branch were launched. (8) 23 M.D. authorized disciplines of A and B medical university were ranked separately. The first in A university is the burn branch and the last one is endocrinology branch, while the first in B university is the pediatrics and the last one is rehabilitation branch. (9) Discipline construction strategies were proposed in this study. In the term of academic group, it is important to select academic leader and strengthen the academic group instruction. In the terms of scientific research, it is important to choose right research direction, apply for project actively, publish high quality SCI articles, strengthen outcome transform, emphasis academic communication and cooperation and combine with clinic and foundation. In the terms of people cultivate, it is important to make scientific graduate students cultivate plan, enrich teaching consciousness, perfect rules and regulations, standard teaching management, take various graduate learning forms, apply for teaching project and write teaching paper actively and improve graduate students'capability of clinical diagnosis by strengthening intractable case discussion. In the terms of cultivate environment, it is important to enhance lab instruction, promote discipline development, develop new technology and profession, build discipline culture of encouraging creation, perfect promotion mechanism and encourage optimum competition. In the terms of discipline instruction planning, it is important to practice discipline groups instruction, organize discipline special zone and establish innovation discipline management concepts.Conclusion: (1) Establishing a scientific and reasonable M.D. authorized disciplines evaluation indictor system. (2) Four level score standardization of three level indexes can fully reflect M.D. authorized disciplines constructions'characters. (3) Identify the main problems of M.D. authorized disciplines exactly. (4) The prepotency analysis and diagnosis analysis of A and B university accord with the actual situation, and the evaluation result is reliable. (5) Providing a scientific and reasonable M.D. authorized disciplines'instruction strategies.
