In the recent years, the incidence of infertility increased with obvious rising trend. Today, infertility has become one of the three major diseases which influence a lot on human life and health. Doctors of the post dynasties have done a lot of work on describing and recording how to do the diagnosis and treatment on infertility. However, the TCM theory conclusion on infertility is not systematic. Especially in Ming and Qing Dynasties, there's not enough study on the Ian of syndrome differentiation and treatment of it, and up to now no profess, and research, and report has been found.At the same time, theories of TCM are not so closely realted with practice because nowadays we rely more on western diagnostic methods and treatment as well. It is necessary to do more work on summarization of reorganization of ancient literatures especially that of Ming and Qing Dynasties to learn from ancient doctors on the rule of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment. The study will also be helpful to the methodology of integration of western and TCM treatment on infertility.Research Object:48important medical literatures on infertility in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Research Methods:Literature research method, qualitative analysis method, experience summarization method, descriptive study and statistical analysis.The results:1. The recognition on etiology is more complete in Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially the doctors of Ming and Qing Dynasties emphasized on the endogenous pathogenic factors taking the seven emotion factors as representative.2. About pathogenesis, Zang Fu organizations, Qi and blood, meridians and collaterals were comprehensively analyzed.3. Syndrome differentiation is described more in details.4. In treatment, physiological characteristics of women were greatly emphasized, coordination KI, LR, SP three organs was mostly considered. Tonics herbs were more often given to protect Qi and blood. A lot of famous formed fomula were found in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Conclusion:The study about rules of syndrome differentiation and treatment on infertility of Ming and Qing Dynasties exert great influence on cyclic treatment of infertility. The results are creative.At the same time, the theories and experience of Ming and Qing Dynasties doctors give good fluence to support and practice guidance for methodology of infertility treatment, and to find out the clinical advantages and features of TCM treatments on infertility.
