Observation Of Jiaji Points In Extremity Dysfunction Cause By Stoke

Objective of the studyTo observe the efficiency of Jiaji Points in extremity dysfunction cause by stroke, and therefore contribute a new method in treating stroke hemiplegia.Methods of the studyA prospective, randomized and controlled trial with a large sample of90participants which were divided into three groups.1) Traditional points group with30participants, based on the6th edition of the Public Health Department Planned textbook "Acupuncture and Moxibustion", the prescription include the points of LI4, LI11, LI15, LI10, SJ5, GB30, GB34, ST36, ST41, BL60, ST31. The treatment held6times a week,4weeks for totally30times. With electroacupuncture for20minutes.2) Traditional points group add on with Jiaji points group with30participants, the prescription include the above mentioned group and Jiaji points group. The treatment held6times a week,4weeks for totally30times. With electroacupuncture for20minutes.3) Jiaji points group with30participants, the prescription include the points of C1, C2, T3,T4,T5, C5,C6,C7. T1, L3,L4,L5,S1Jiaji points. The treatment held6times a week,4weeks for totally30times. With electroacupuncture for20minutes. All the participants is grading with Manual Muscle Test, Modified Ashworth grading scale, Brunnstrom grading scale, Fugl-Meyer grading scale and the Modified Barthel index.ResultsIt was comparable among the three groups in gender, age and evaluation scores of MMT, MAS, Brunnstrom, FMA, MBI before the treatment (P>0.05).After the treatment, grading scale of Manual Muscle Test of3groups were significantly increased (P<0.05).After the treatment, grading scale of Modified Ashworth grading scale of Jiaji points group and Traditional points group add on with Jiaji points groups were significantly increased (P<0.05), while the tradisional points group was not (P>0.05).After the treatment, grading scale of Brunnstrom grading scale of3groups were significantly increased (P<0.05).After the treatment, grading scale of Fugl-Meyer grading scale of3groups were significantly increased (P<0.05). After the treatment, grading scale of Modified Barthel index of3groups were significantly increased (P<0.05).ConclusionsJiaji points group and Traditional points group is effective to extremity dysfunction cause by stroke, which possesses advantages in aspects of relieving neurologic deficit, promoting daily living activities, enhancing motor function and alleviating muscle spasticity, and therefore inprove living quality and shorten recovery duration stroke hemiplegia patients. This is helpful for them to back to the normal life and community earlier.
