A Clinical Study On "tonifying Ki, Resolving Blood Stasis And Strenthening Bone" For Senile Osteopososis

Purpose:Discuss the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine on senile osteoporosis using prescription of tonifying kidney, resolving blood stasis and strengthening bone, observe the therapeutic effect by this method in treating the syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis of senile osteoporosis.Methods:A randomized, controlled trial was conducted by 50 old patients with the syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis of osteoporosis classified into two groups. The patients of treated group (n=25) were treated by Chinese medicine while the patients of controlled groups (n=25) were treated by caltrate D. Tweleve weeks was a course of treatment. The observed indexes included both curative effect indexes, such as clinical symptoms, E2, T, BMD, Ca,P, ALP,PTH,CT, hemorheology and safety indexes, such as routine urine, blood and stool test, ECG, the function of liver and kidney and harmful reaction. All of the data carries on statistics analysis by the SPSS 17.0 statistics software.Results:Prior treatment, the age, gender between the two groups had no differences.①The total effective rate of treated group's patients was 92.00%, while the controlled group was 64.00%. The treated group gained an advantage over the controlled group (P<0.05).②The Estrogenic hormone and Testosterone hormone:the level of E2 and T was ascended of the treated group (P<0.05), while in the controlled group, it was not changed obviously. The treated group excelled the controlled one (P<0.05).③BMD:the level of BMD was elevated in both of the two groups, compared with pre-treatment there is statistically significant(P<0.05). Furthermore, the treated group was better (P<0.05).④Ca and P:Compared with pre-treatment, there was a raise of Ca and a reduce of P in both groups(P<0.05), and it is similar either the treated one or the controlled one after treatment (P>0.05).⑤ALP:There was no remarkable differences between the pre-treatment and after treatment in both groups(P>0.05).⑥PTH:There was a obvious raise in the treated group(P<0.05),without the controlled one.⑦CT:In the treated group, the level of CT was elevated after treatment(P<0.05), but the controlled group was almost sameness.⑧Hemorheology:After treatment, the whole blood viscosity (highly cuts, middle cuts, lowly cuts 1/s)of the treated group dropped (P<0.01), compared between the two groups, the treated one was better.Conclusion:Chinese medicine of method in nourishing kidney resolving blood stasis and stengthening bone has a sure curative effect in treating osteoporosis in the elderly. It is worth studying deeply and developing further.
