ObjectiveThis article aims to find the histrical and logical generation process of the coordination of schema, and the promoting and restricting relationships of the five elements theory of philosophy, and the five elements theory of traditional Chinese medicine; explore the function in the development processtion of the theory of the five elements of the corresponding consciousness between heaven and man and meteorology, phenological, and thoughts about issuing decrees according to climites in the ancient classics processes; research the law of the application of the five elements theory and the development about the five elements theory in neijing and later generation's medicine; discuss the essential characteristic of the five elements theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the core content of the theory of the five elements in traditional Chinese medicine and its role in the development of traditional Chinese medicine to propose a beneficial reference on correctly understanding the theory of the five elementsMethodsThis paper adopts two research methods. The first is the unification of the logical method and the histrical method, while the second is the method of comprehensive analysis.when this article researches the germination, initially formation, mature and the process of the five elements getting into traditional Chinese medicine, as well as in generous stating the interaction and development between the theory of the five elements and the TCM, adopts the method of unity of history and logic; when researches the application and development of the five elements mainly use the method of comprehensive analysis.Research achievement1. Respect the origin of the theory of the five elements The theory of the five elements have two main sources which are the five directions say and the five material say, based on the five directions say the ancients initially formed spatio-temporal slots schema, based on the five material say the ancients formed the original five-element theory which emphasize physical functions and characteristics. The coordination method has nothing to do with the politics of later western Han dynasty or eastern Han dynasty.4. There are flexibilities, when Huangdi Nei jing apply the law that things which belong to the same element response each other to explain the function of five-Zang and apply the rule that promotion and restriction between five elements to explain the transfer of disease, appear the bud of mutual hidden ideas among five elements, the Yunqi theory expound the nonlinear relationships of five elements, such as promotion, restriction, bully and reverse bully, base on this later physicians proposed five elements mutually hidden, and promotion interlink restriction thoughts, overcome the mechanical which is the shortcoming of the theory.
