PART ONE: The Manifestation of Intracoronary Ultrasound(ICUS) in The Patients With Normal Coronary Angiography. Objective. To investigate the representation of ICUS in the patients with normal coronary angiography(CAG), in order to set futher the indication of ICUS examination. Methods. Four hundred consecutive patients who were suspected or diagnosed as CHD accepted both CAG and ICUS examination. Results. Among 400 patients, 135 patients(91 men; mean age 55.5±11.1 years) with normal CAG had manifestation of ICUS followed: normal coronary artery in 28 patients, intimal thickness in 38 patients and various plaques in 69 patients. The luminaJ area percent narrowing >50% was found in 19 patients(27.5%). Conclusion. This study demonstrated that ICUS is more sensitive than CAG Cor diagnosing coronary arterial atherosclerosis. The risk factors of CHD was much more in patients with intima thickening and intimal plagues than those with normal manifestation of ICUS. We suggest that it is need for patients with normal CAG to futher evaluate the coronary artery with ICUS when the patients have high risk factors of CHD, especially male patients with typical symptoms of angina pectoris. |
