The heat shock response exists in all living cells and it causes metabolic changes and production of heat shock proteins(HSPs), which serves as chaperones within cells. Among the big protein families, HSP90 and HSP70 families are much attractive and well investigated. The members of HSP90 family appear to be "carriers" of key proteins; they help properly folding and stabilization of the steroid receptors in the course of association. The members of HSP70 family, viewed as belonging to the "working-class" of chaperones, are in a wide variety of cellular compartments and exhibit an extensive promiscuity in binding to other unfolded polypeptides, and they are involved in important physiologic cell functions such as phagocytosis, lymphocyte homing and antigen processing. With reverse transcription- DNA polymerase chain reaction(RT- PCR), the expression of hsp70, hsp90 a and hsp90 β were detected in PBMC of normal volunteers and patients with asthma and chronic bronchitis(CB). It was found that (1) There were expressions of hsp90 α and hsp 90 β in the PBMC of normal volunteers but no expression of hsp 70 in the case of no...
