Objectives: To observe the effect of vertigo of Vertebrabasilar insufficiency treated by acupuncture therapy> ultrasonic therapy and low frequency impulse electrotherapy. Clinical manifestation and cervical vertebra transcranial Doppler (TCD) . Were observed to investigate the difference of three therapy in improving vertigo symptomes, so it can offer valuable and dependable theoretic basis for clincal treatment. Methods : 1. Using acupuncture therapy. ultrasonic therapy and low frequency impulse electrotherapy to treat vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo separately.2. Using comprehensive method to treat vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo separately. such as acupuncture and ultrasonic therapy, acupuncture and low frequency impulse electrotherapy, and acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapy.3. Observing the changes before and after treatment, such as TCD and clinical manifestation of vertigo. dizziness. headache. nauseaN tinnitus, deaf and active inconvenient. Results: 1. 32 patients were treated by acupuncture therapy, 25 patients in ultrasonic therapy, 25 patients in low frequency impulse electrotherapy. The cure and effective rate in acupuncture group was 53.12%, in ultrasonic group was 28.00%, and in low frequency impulse electrotherapy was 20.00%. There was obvious difference in acupuncture therapy and the other therapys. The total effective rate in acupuncture group was 87.50%, in ultrasonic group was 76.00%, and in low frequency impulse electrotherapy was 50.00%, Acupuncture therapy was superior to the other therapys.2. 60 patients were treated inacupuncture and ultrasonic therapy, and 60 patients were treated in acupuncture and low frequency impulse electrotherapy The cure and effective rate in acupuncture and ultrasonic group was 58.33%, and in another group was 55.00%. The total effective rate in acupunture and ultrasonicgroup was 93.33%, and in another group was 88.33%. There was no obvious difference in two groups.3. 59 patients were treated in acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapy, the cure and effective rate of it was 57.62%, and total effective rate was 89.83%. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapy was superior to acupuncture therapy, ultrasonic therapy, low frequency impulse electrotherapy, acupuncture and low frequency impulse electrotherapy in treating other clinical manifestation excepting vertigo.4. In comprehensive methods, there had no obvious difference in three groups, but in total tendency, acupucture and ultrasonic therapy was superior to the other therapys. Conclusion: Acupuncture therapy, ultrasonic therapy, and low frequency impulse electrotherapy all have effect in treating vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo, but acupuncture therapy seems to be more effective. The comprehensivw method of three groups has no notable difference in effect, but acupuncture and ultrasonic therapy semms to be superior than other two theraps. In fact, acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapy maybe more practical in clinic.
