Clinical And Experimental Research On Treatment Of Vascular Dementia With Bushen Jiannao Capsule

In the course of treatment of VD by 1CM, double blind and double simulated studies are carried out by application of international universal quantity, which ensures reliability of the researching result that shows Bushen Jiannao Capsule has the same therapeutic effects as Hydergine in the aspect of improving intelligence; but in improving syndromes of TCM, its total therapeutic effects are superior to that of Hydergine, as for the improvement of most syndromes, the therapeutic effects are superior to that of Hydergine. In order to give further studies of its mechanism of action, researches are carried out on rat behavior science, anti-oxidant free-radicals as well as nervous transmitter. Studies have shown that 1. Bushen Jiannao Capsule is obviously superior to Hydergine in improving rat抯 faculty of learning memory and its ability of learning acquirement; 2. the former is superior to the latter in improving rat's ability of memory consolidation; 3. the former is superior to the latter in improving the contant of DA. 5-HI of cerebral cortex; 4. Bushen Jiannao Capsule can increase the activity of SOD and decrease the content of MDA, and its therapeutic effect is generally superior to Hydergine. Therefore, it has been proved that the mechanism of action of Bushen Jiannao Capsule's therapeutic effects is at least caused by increasing the content of AD. 5-HI in the brain, increasing the activity of SOD, decreasing the number of free radicals in the body, and making lipid peroxide decrease. Now, the above studies have provided the scientific facts for treatment of VD with Bushen Jiannao Capsule.
