Sand destination is one of the most serious types for desertification; itdistributes wildly and brings the most serious damage. Presently the desert areashad covered 174.31×104km2 in our country, taking up 18.2% of the total national land, and extending 3436km2 yearly. Sand destination has become the most serious naturaldisaster and environmental problem, which restrain our national sustainable economicdevelopment. So the importance of desert-prevention not only lies in harnessing andimproving ecological environment itself, but also changing the backward situationof the eastern part of our country, promoting both the desert area economic and socialsustainable development and that of the whole country.Set ripe desert-prevention technological systems have been established in ourcountry at present, including technology of plants sand-fixation, engineeringsand-fixation and chemical sand-fixation. Of all these, plants sand-fixation is themost basic, economical and effective measure of controlling and fixing the mobilesands. Some perennial shrubs, half-shrubs are the real effective grasses in term ofhusbandry and ecological protection in arid and semi-arid areas of our western. Theseshrubs have better adaptability in most arid and semi-arid areas, playing a veryimportant part in wind-prevention and sand-fixation, water-and-soil conservation, and ecological environment improvement. Besides, shrubs can also provide feed as wellas fuel and have a high, feeding and economic value. After decades of years ofcontinuing studies, some shrub-seeds that can be easily cultivated and grown in ourwestern sandy areas are carefully selected, mainly including Astragarus huangheensis,Artemisia arenaria, Hedysarum fruticosum, Caragana microphylla, Hedysarumscopariyum, Hedysarum leave maxim, Caragana intermedia, Caragana korshinskii andHippophae rhamnodides. The principle of desert-prevention is to unify ecological benefit, economicbenefit and social benefit, making the ecological benefit priority. Only in this waywe can continue to control and resume ecological environment forever and maintainour ecological construction strengthens. Under this circumstance the author hasconducted a research on Caragana Lam and Hedysarum L, commonly used in ecologicalcontrol nowadays that had been planted by author in east edge of Kubuqi Desert lyingin Inner Mongolia. Compared with another careful research conducted by many otherscholars on Caragana Lam, this research was mainly done on biology, ecology,physiological-ecology, feeding nutritious value and ecological benefit of the seedof Hedysarum scoparium, Hedysarum leave maxim, and Hedysarum fruticosum. Thefollowing are the findings of this research:1. Hedysarum fruticosum and Caragana microphylla, Hedysarum leave maxim andCaragana intermedia, Hedysarum scoparium and Caragana korshinskii are respectively...
