In this paper, based on the interrelated theory of attenuating IR and MMW, the characters of attenuating IR/MMW smoke particles are studied, the study technology route of anti-IR/MMW compound smoke composition, which can form the smoke consisting of expanded graphite and soot, is put forwarded.The interrelated characteristics of expansive graphite, which is the MMW interference component in compound smoke composition, is studied on its structure characteristics and expanded mechanism, the effects on expanded volume of the particles diameters, the inserted substances kinds and the expansive temperature are discussed. Aiming at the technology problem in MMW attenuation test of the expanded graphite, the author designs the test sample board creatively, based on the board, the attenuation laws of the expanded graphite length, density and diameter, the expansive graphite particles diameters and inserted substances kinds to 3mm and 8mm wave are studied, various factor parameters of optimal attenuation effects are obtained; the experimental study results indicates that the expanded graphite attenuation to MMW is contravening the half-wave resonance scattering attenuation theory, the performance advantages of expansive graphite compared to the usual interferents are analyzed.The formula of anti-IR/MMW compound smoke composition is designed and studied experimentally, the components design principle is presented, the initial formula, consisting of (C2F4)n, magnesium powder, expansive graphite, HW2 and TJ3 etc., is screened out through plenty of experiments. Using Taguchi method, the initial formula is optimized and designed, connecting to the performance test experiment of smoke attenuation to IR/MMW in the smoke box, the author optimizes the optimal formula of anti-IR/MMW compound smoke composition, and reveals the effect laws of each components in smoke composition to the smoke attenuation to 35μm, 814μm, 3mm, 8mm wave. The efficiency of the optimal formula is tested and evaluated, the results indicate that smoke mass concentration and particles diameters distributing are tend to the most extinction distributing, the effective interference time to military II type subassembly imaging is not under 8 minutes, smoke IR transmittance is less than 20%, smoke attenuation to the signal of 3mm and 8mm transmission system is over 10dB.
