| In the context of implementing the new curriculum reform and implementing the new curriculum standards,how to increase students’ interest in learning geography and improve the enrollment rate of geography as a subject is a "new issue" facing the geography discipline.Through the local geography curriculum,students can acquire relevant geographical knowledge from the surrounding environment and society,which not only conforms to the concept of the new curriculum reform,but also is an important means to cultivate students’ core competence in geography.Through reading and sorting out domestic and foreign literature,it is found that the research of local geography curriculum resources at the district(county)level is extremely weak.Therefore,this article takes Nankang District as an example and carries out relevant research,summarized as follows:First,Through field investigations and literature research,the local geographical resources of Nankang District have been sorted and summarized.Among them,natural geographical resources include: terrain characterized by low mountains and hills,soil types dominated by red soil,mineral resources characterized by tungsten and rare earth minerals,etc.Human geographical resources include: a large population,an agricultural industry characterized by sweet grapefruit,the largest furniture production base in central China.,"Ganzhou Port",a national-level demonstration project for the "Belt and Road" multimodal transport,Jiangxi Province industrial tourism demonstration base Nankang home town,etc.Secondly,through questionnaire surveys,the problems encountered in the development and application of local geographical curriculum resources in Nankang District have been analyzed and summarized.It is proposed that the development of local geographical curriculum resources should follow the principles of combining the curriculum standards,scientificity,and typicality.The specific development strategies are as follows: a development system for local geographical curriculum resources in Nankang District should be established from four dimensions: schools and education authorities,teachers,students,and the community.This includes establishing a local geographical curriculum resource library,compiling textbooks for local geographical education,and building local geographical practice bases.Thirdly,the ways of applying local geographical curriculum resources in the classroom are proposed: using local materials to stimulate students’ interest in learning,creating local situations to awaken students’ previous experiences,analyzing local cases to provoke students’ desire to explore,and compiling local geographical test questions to strengthen students’ geographical cognition.The ways of applying these resources outside of the classroom include geographical practice activities and geographical study tours.The local resources of Nankang District have been sorted and integrated with the required new textbooks of the Chinese National Curriculum Standards.Two comparison tables have been created for teachers to use as reference.Fourthly,three typical local geographical resources in Nankang District,including the unique agricultural product "Nankang sweet grapefruit",the successful furniture industry,and the industrial tourism demonstration site "Nankang Home Furnishing Town",were selected for the design of three teaching examples and the implementation of teaching practices.Peer and student interviews were conducted to analyze and discuss the teaching effects,and timely reflection and summary were carried out.Through research,the validity and feasibility of developing and applying local geographical curriculum resources at the county(district)level have been verified.In addition,it has been further demonstrated that the development and application of local geographical curriculum resources can help teachers better carry out teaching,activate classroom atmosphere,and enhance students’ understanding of their hometown and local feelings. |
