Music appreciation is the most common form of music education,and also the most impactful form in music education.Based on the type of performance,music can be divided into two categories: vocal and instrumental.There are numerous types of instruments,which have a brilliant and diverse sound while also possessing unique personality and tension,playing a crucial role in the entire history of music.Meanwhile,instrumental appreciation is also an important part of middle school music learning.The textbooks include classic instrumental works from different regions,eras,styles,and genres,which play an irreplaceable role in promoting students’ aesthetic development,cultivating students’ music interest,and broadening students’ artistic vision.Although middle school instrumental appreciation teaching has been emphasized in the "Standards" and the cultivation of core literacy,classroom observations have found that students often feel bored during instrumental appreciation classes and fall asleep while listening to instrumental works,failing to gain a profound musical experience.Therefore,this study focuses on the middle school department of A school in Haikou City and conducts field investigations.By collecting and analyzing interview and survey data,this study explores the successful experiences and existing problems of instrumental appreciation teaching,and proposes strategies and suggestions for middle school instrumental appreciation teaching based on the characteristics of instrumental appreciation teaching.This study mainly focuses on the following aspects: The first part is the introduction,which will explain the background and significance of this research,summarize the progress of existing research,clarify the research objectives and methods,and define the relevant core concepts.The second part,based on the description of the learning objectives and requirements of middle school students in the "Standards," explores the significance of instrumental appreciation teaching and emphasizes the importance of instrumental appreciation in middle school music learning.The third part aims to investigate the current situation and corresponding implementation effects of instrumental appreciation teaching in the middle school department of A school in Haikou City.Through the use of research methods such as questionnaires,interviews,and classroom observations,a detailed investigation and analysis of the instrumental appreciation teaching in this school has been carried out.On this basis,the study further evaluates the impact of different factors on teaching effectiveness and summarizes the problems of instrumental appreciation teaching.The fourth part,based on the research and reflection on the current situation of middle school instrumental appreciation teaching,and combined with personal teaching practice experience,proposes solutions to the problems of middle school instrumental appreciation teaching,in order to provide useful reference and suggestions for future instrumental appreciation teaching.
