Background and purpose: Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is a typical deeply impoverished area in the country.Driven by the vigorous efforts of targeted poverty alleviation,all deeply impoverished counties have been cleared.Together with the people of all ethnic groups in the country,it has achieved a comprehensive well-off society and successfully achieved an organic connection with rural revitalization.During the "Poverty Alleviation" period,Liangshan prefecture insisted on combining poverty alleviation with intellectual support,and took education as a fundamental strategy to solve the problem.With the comprehensive advancement of education revitalization,Liangshan’s educational shortcomings were gradually filled,and people of all ethnic groups attached great importance to education.However,due to the influence of history,geography,economy,concepts and other factors,the development of extracurricular sports activities in Liangshan Prefecture Middle School is still relatively backward.,Bring negative impact on the benign development of school sports and students’ physical and mental health.Therefore,starting from the background of rural revitalization,this study takes the extracurricular sports activities of middle schools in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture as the research object,investigates the development of extracurricular sports activities in middle schools in ethnic minority areas and the participation of students,and understands and analyzes the problems existing in the development of extracurricular sports activities,and combined with rural revitalization to explore the development path of extracurricular sports activities in ethnic minority areas,the aim is to promote the development of extracurricular sports activities in ethnic minority areas and improve the quality of sports activities.Methods: Combing relevant research through the literature method to provide theoretical support for the writing of the paper.Using research methods such as questionnaire survey,field investigation,interview,and logical analysis,the organization form,activity content,teaching staff,sports funds,venue equipment,and management system of extracurricular sports activities in 6 public middle schools in different administrative regions of Liangshan Prefecture were investigated.,as well as student participation and other in-depth investigation and analysis.All collected data were analyzed and processed using spss version 25.0.Research results:(1)Physical education resources in Liangshan Prefecture are unbalanced,and there are large differences in the implementation of extracurricular sports activities between county-level cities and county schools.(2)Most of the guardians of middle school students in Liangshan prefecture work in agriculture and have a low level of education.They have backward ideas and concepts,and they do not have a high degree of recognition for women’s participation in extracurricular sports activities.Students are under greater pressure to study,have less spare time,and are not enthusiastic about participating in extracurricular sports activities.high.(3)The concept of school leaders and teachers emphasizing literature over sports is still prominent,and the level of support for extracurricular sports activities is average;school morning exercises and inter-class exercises are carried out normally,but the content is single and the quality is not high;sports competitions are actively carried out in various middle schools,and many Twice a year,mainly track and field games and basketball leagues;sports training is mainly carried out with three balls,some schools carry out wrestling,judo and other national characteristic sports,and the training time is concentrated in after-school services.(4)The school sports venues and equipment are lacking,and there are problems of not timely updating and inadequate management;the number of physical education teachers meets the national requirements,but there is a lack of highly educated and high-level physical education teachers,and the workload is heavy.Most physical education teachers need Wearing multiple roles;school sports funds cannot be earmarked for special purposes,and the source is single;the development of extracurricular sports activities is generally lack of management,resulting in low quality and poor student enthusiasm;the safety of sports activities is prominent,and there is a lack of sports safety education.Research Conclusions and Recommendations:(1)Balance urban and rural physical education resources,so that rural school sports work is emphasized and strengthened,and physical education teacher resources,sports funds,and sports facilities are improved.(2)School leaders,teachers and parents should jointly change traditional ideas,attach importance to the development of extracurricular sports activities in schools,enrich the content and form of extracurricular sports activities,and improve students’ enthusiasm for participation.(3)Increase the investment in school sports funds,expand the sources of funds,implement the management system of school sports funds,and improve sports venues and equipment.(4)Optimize the school sports management system,establish a management organization and management model for extracurricular sports activities,ensure the sound development of school extracurricular sports activities,and improve the quality of extracurricular sports activities.(5)Strengthen school sports safety education and implement safety issues in extracurricular sports activities.
