Modern poetry is the product of poetry modernization,reflecting the life,psychological emotions and ideological styles of the times with modern artistic language,and has unique aesthetic value and teaching value.The modern poetry arranged by the junior high school Chinese textbook has an irreplaceable educational effect on the improvement of junior high school students’ thinking,language and aesthetic ability and the cultivation of cultural self-confidence.Through the analysis of teaching cases,it is found that the teaching effect of modern poetry in junior high school is not satisfactory,and there are many common teaching problems,which greatly weakens the educational role that modern poetry selected texts should play.Brooks’ Poetry Reading Theory takes poetry as the research object,starting from the "particularity" of poetry as a unique genre,constructs a set of close reading theories and methods for poetry style,helps students understand the essential characteristics of poetry,master the methods of close reading poetry,cultivate transferable ability to read poetry,and finally point to the improvement of thinking and aesthetic ability.The value pursuit of Brooks’ poetry perusal theory is highly consistent with the core concept of developing core literacy advocated by the new curriculum standard.Based on the in-depth analysis of modern poetry teaching in junior high school and Brooks’ poetry reading theory,this study finds that the core viewpoints and perspectives of this close reading theory are suitable for solving the problems existing in modern poetry teaching in junior high schools.How to integrate Brooks’ poetry reading theory into modern poetry teaching in junior high school,improve the current situation of modern poetry teaching,and ultimately realize the development of students’ core literacy is the problem that needs to be solved in this study.Therefore,this study takes the teaching of modern poetry in junior high school as the research object,relies on the Chinese textbooks of junior high schools,takes Brooks’ poetry close reading theory as the theoretical guide,and uses the literature research method,case analysis method and experience summary method to explore the teaching strategy of junior high school modern poetry that gives Brooks poetry close reading theory.This study gradually follows the logical approach of "fact clarification(discovering problems)-value clarification(theoretical intervention)-strategy design(solving problems)".Firstly,clarify the factual issues,that is,clarify the existing problems in modern poetry teaching in junior high school.By analyzing teaching cases,we aim to understand the current situation of modern poetry teaching in junior high school and summarize typical problems that commonly exist: lack of stylistic features and vague teaching directions;The interpretation of the text is superficial,and classroom teaching is inefficient;The lack of subject status hinders the improvement of literacy.Secondly,clarify the value issue by analyzing the feasibility and necessity of Brooks’ theory of poetry close reading applied to modern poetry teaching in junior high school.There are long-term and difficult problems in modern poetry teaching in junior high school,and it is necessary to introduce targeted theory of close reading to improve the teaching situation in order to achieve the goals of the Chinese language curriculum.The value pursuit of Brooks’ theory of poetry close reading is "ontology" poetics,as well as the key points of close reading such as "organic whole","paradox","metaphorical and symbolic functions of imagery","intonation and attitude",and "dramatic structure",which complement modern poetry teaching in middle school.Finally,to solve the path problem,how to integrate Brooks’ theory of poetry.Finally,to solve the path problem,how to integrate Brooks’ theory of poetry close reading with modern poetry teaching in junior high school.In response to the typical problems commonly encountered in the teaching of modern poetry in junior high school,closely adhering to the value demands and key points of Brooks’ theory of poetry close reading,supported by the new curriculum standards and compiled junior high school Chinese language textbooks,a teaching strategy for modern poetry in junior high school based on Brooks’ theory of poetry close reading is constructed from three dimensions: coupling theory with teaching elements,and establishing teaching preparation strategies(five items);Anchor the key points of theoretical reading and modify teaching implementation strategies(seven items);Focus on classroom teaching effectiveness and adapt teaching monitoring strategies(five items).
