| Teenage suicide is a worldwide public health problem,and the suicide ideation rate of high school students is also on the rise.High school students are in a critical period of growth,and their psychological characteristics are complex,and their healthy development of body and mind is the topic of family,school and society.Relevant studies have found that mindfulness,as a positive concept including emotion and cognition,has been proven to be associated with subjective well-being,sense of meaning of life and suicidal ideation.Mindfulness training can also significantly improve factors affecting individual mental health,such as anxiety and depression.While mindfulness and its theory originated from practice,and relevant training methods are mainly applied in clinical practice,in-depth research on the relationship between mindfulness and suicidal ideation is relatively rare.In view of the above problems,this study introduced the sense of time passing and rumination as two cognitive and emotional variables to explore the effects of them on mindfulness and suicidal ideation.On this basis,high school students were selected as research objects to design a mindfulness group counseling program and conduct a mindfulness intervention study.In the first study,1212 high school students from two senior middle schools in Guizhou Province were surveyed by the mindful awareness scale,the sense of time Lapse scale,rumination thinking scale and the Adolescent Suicide ideation Scale,so as to understand the status quo of high school students’ mindfulness,sense of time lapse,rumination thinking and suicide ideation.Correlation analysis and regression analysis and structural equation model test were conducted.Correlation analysis showed that mindfulness was negatively correlated with the sense of time passing,rumination and suicidal ideation.There was a pairwise positive correlation between time lapse,rumination and suicidal ideation.The results of regression analysis and mediating effect test showed that mindfulness could negatively predict suicidal ideation.The sense of time passing plays a mediating role between mindfulness and suicidal ideation;Rumination plays a mediating role between mindfulness and suicidal ideation;Time lapse and rumination play a chain mediating role between mindfulness and suicidal ideation.On the basis of study 1,study 2 randomly divided 24 qualified high school students into experimental group and control group.The experimental group participated in mindfulness group counseling,while the control group did not do experimental processing,to test whether mindfulness group intervention can have a significant impact on the level of suicidal ideation of high school students.Independent and paired sample T-test results showed that,under the premise of the same pretest of the two groups,the mindfulness score of the experimental group was significantly improved after intervention compared with the preintervention score and the control group,and the level of suicidal ideation was significantly decreased,while the level of mindfulness and suicidal ideation of the control group had no statistical significance.It indicates that mindfulness group counseling has a significant effect on the level of suicidal ideation in high school students.Combining the results of Study 1 and Study 2,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Mindfulness can negatively predict suicidal ideation: the sense of time passing and rumination play a chain mediating role between mindfulness and suicidal ideation.(2)Mindfulness group counseling can effectively improve the level of mindfulness and reduce the level of suicidal ideation among high school students. |
