| Learning motivation has always been an important issue in the field of education.How to stimulate students’ learning motivation in the teaching process is the concern of expert teachers.However,in the context of unbalanced teaching resources and a need for overall improvement in the quality of teachers in our country,many teachers do not focus on cultivating students’ learning motivation in their teaching process,and even use incorrect methods to lead to a decline of students’ intrinsic motivation.In order to improve this situation,teachers are required to consciously pay attention to students’ learning motivation throughout the teaching process.Based on the above situation,this study has done the following works using information technology courses as an example.First,a new teaching process model was designed by integrating activity theory into ARCS motivation model,in this model,instructional design includes four stages:definition,design,development,and evaluation,each corresponding to setting motivational intervention goals,previewing motivational strategies,designing a chain of instructional activities,and evaluating instructional design directly.The entire model includes a method of activity classification and three mapping tables: one for mapping motivational components to motivational strategies,the second for mapping activity types and motivational components to motivational strategies,and the third for mapping motivational strategies to instructional activity conversion rules.The classification method for activities was developed by analyzing the elements of activities.The first mapping table was derived from organizing the ARCS books and literatures.The second mapping table was developed by analyzing excellent information technology teaching plans.The third mapping table was derived from analyzing the meanings of strategies and activities.Secondly,an instructional design assistance system was designed and developed based on the above teaching process model.Thirdly,teachers and preparatory information technology teachers were invited to participate in trials and interviews to validate the system’s effectiveness.The research results indicate that during the process of trial,information technology teachers and education majors acknowledged the value of the system and demonstrated a strong willingness to use it.The integration of activity theory into the ARCS motivational model and its application in instructional design has certain theoretical and practical significance. |
