Lower limb explosive power is an important basic physical quality and an important factor influencing the training effect and sports performance.In order to improve the lower limb explosive power of track and field students,so as to improve the training effect and athletic performance.Variable resistance is a kind of gradual flexible resistance training,in which the gradual load characteristics can effectively change the biomechanical characteristics within the range of motion,so that the neural adaptability is different from that of traditional resistance training.In this paper,literature data method,expert interview method,experiment method and mathematical statistics method were used to conduct variable resistance training mode of "traditional constant resistance training + elastic band" on experimental subjects,so as to explore the implementation value of variable resistance based compound training on the effect of lower limb explosive power.In this experiment,16 men in athletics specialty of physical education major of Wuhan University of Physical Education were selected as experimental subjects.The subjects were randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 8 men in each group.Variable resistance compound training and traditional resistance compound training were adopted respectively.The experimental group used 40%(35% 1RM)of the total strength elastic band load to replace part of the self-use weight,training intervention for 8 weeks,2 training sessions a week.The final conclusions are as follows:(1)The variable resistance-based compound training had significantly better effects on the high scores of standing long jump,standing triple jump and run-up longitudinal jump than the traditional resistance compound training,but there was no significant difference between the two training methods in terms of the effects on the scores of backthrow solid ball and30-meter timed run.(2)Both variable resistance compound training and traditional resistance compound training can improve the CMJ squat jump index performance of lower limb explosive power of track and field students.However,there are obvious differences in the training effects of these two resistance training methods.The effect of variable resistance compound training is better than that of traditional resistance compound training.(3)After eight weeks of experimental intervention,the lower extremity explosive power test index performance of the variable resistance-based compound training group improved more significantly than that of the traditional resistance compound training group,indicating that the variable resistance-based compound training can improve the lower extremity explosive power of track and field students in physical education major,and the improvement effect is better.
