| The "political correctness" of the United States is the language and policy care for the marginalized and vulnerable groups to prevent them from being marginalized and insulted,so as to guarantee their human rights within the Constitution.Relatively speaking,anti-"political correctness" refers to the excessive care of "political correctness" for special groups and the infringement of the rights of most social groups caused by "political correctness".After more than a century of development,"political correctness",including but not limited to gun control issues,climate change,and anti-racial discrimination,has become a part of American political culture.Former US President Donald Trump’s opposition to "political correctness" has made the discussion of "political correctness" once again at the heart of the public debate.Therefore,on the basis of reviewing the existing research and taking the background of Trump’s ruling measures,this paper deeply explores the evolution of the connotation of "political correctness":from the grammar vocabulary at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China to the critical semantics in the era of progressives and before and after World War Ⅱ,and then to the anti-discrimination semantics of the combination with the social movement during the civil rights movement.On the basis of the study of "politically correct" connotation evolution,and the connotation of the "politically correct",in the 80s and 90s against "politically correct" wave began to rise,by the beginning of this century trump era has a new development:against multicultural untie white supremacy,against illegal immigration restrictions immigration,against women’s rights to belittle women.However,there are many reasons for Trump’s anti-"political correctness",such as the catalysis of political polarization of the two parties,the increasing economic burden of the United States,the rebirth of domestic populism,the change of domestic population structure,and the alienation of political correctness itself.The anti-"political correctness" in the Trump era did not bring "great greatness" to the United States,but aroused a lot of unrest,such as intensifying the "political polarization" of the two parties,breaking the mechanism of checks and balances in the constitutional system,and hurting the collective consciousness and concept of the American people.The impact of anti"political correctness" has not disappeared with Donald Trump’s defeat in the 2020 general election,and still has a widespread influence in American society.In this paper,on the basis of the integrated use of case analysis and literature analysis,study the trump against "politically correct",analyzing the "politically correct" theory source and policy practice,and explore the policy against "politically correct" policy causes and influence,in order to fill the field of domestic minister achievements,also for the domestic study of democratic political evolution to provide a new perspective and direction. |
