| Recent years have witnessed a spurt of progress in TCSL,with many schools and institutions in overseas countries setting up Chinese curriculums. At the same time, due to the impact of the epidemic, many foreigners can hardly travel to China but only learn Chinese in their home countries instead. In this lack of real communication environment and sufficient Chinese input, the textbooks are momentous to learn Chinese. At present,in order to meet the increasing learning needs of overseas Chinese learners,we should pay attention to the development and updating of textbooks for overseas learners. In this thesis,we select the representative overseas Chinese textbooks Discover China and Integrated Chinese for comparison, and analyze the selection and arrangement of grammatical items in overseas Chinese primary comprehensive textbooks. In the cause of make a contribution to the cause of TSCL,we have proposed some suggestions for the future development and updating of comprehensive Chinese language textbooks for overseas beginners. The thesis is divided into four main chapters.Chapter 1 is an introduction. The introduction part mainly introduces the reason and significance of the topic, research object and research method of this paper,as well as the selection and arrangement of overseas Chinese teaching materials, elementary Chinese comprehensive teaching materials and grammar items of Chinese teaching materials as a foreign language, and the research status of the two sets of teaching materials as research objects.Chapter 2 provides a comparative analysis of the selection of grammar items in the two sets of textbooks. In this part,we classify the grammar items and grammar points in the two sets of textbooks by referring to the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, and calculate the total number of grammar items and grammar points in each textbook and the average number of grammar points in each unit.In addition,we take this standard as a reference to study the coverage and overclass of grammar points in the two sets of textbooks. The study found that the grammar points chosen in the Discover China are more basic and easier to be understood.Chapter 3 provides a comparative analysis of the arrangement of grammar items in the two sets of textbooks. The study is composed of four standpoints, namely, the order of grammar points arrangement, the cut-off situation, the annotation situation and the practice questions situation in the two sets of textbooks. The study found that, resulting in different writing concepts, there are many differences in the arrangement of the two textbooks.Integrated Chinese has more benefits in language point segmentation, while Discover China has more practice questions and diversified types. However, the two textbooks could arrange grammar points according to the principle of "from easy to difficult, step by step".Chapter 4 summarizes the strengths and weaknesses of the two sets of textbooks in the selection and arrangement of grammar items, and makes suggestions for the future development and updating of comprehensive Chinese language textbooks for overseas teaching audiences. We believe that when compiling and updating overseas Chinese primary comprehensive textbooks,it is necessary to control the number of grammar points in each unit, make the arrangement "step by step, scattered difficulties",adopt diversified forms of grammar annotation, and zoom in on the fun of the textbooks. |
