| On the basis of previous research,this paper investigates the cultural items of the two textbooks from the five major aspects: China’s national conditions,achievement culture,daily life and customs,communication culture,and ideology,and make statistics on the frequency and proportion of occurrence,analyzes the commonality and difference between the two textbooks through data comparison.The following conclusions were drawn: 1.Both textbooks have the problem of more ancient culture and less contemporary culture.2.The choice of culture in both textbooks tends to Han culture,and less selects other national cultures.3.The cultural points of the two textbooks have selected more achievement cultures.4."An Interpretation of Chinese Cultural Symbol" selects more ideological and conceptual cultural content,but "The Ins and Outs of Chinese Culture" does not select this type of cultural items.In addition,through the comparison of the overall structure of the two textbooks and the implementation of the basic principles of two cultural textbooks,it is concluded that "The Ins and Outs of Chinese Culture" is more scientific and systematic in arrangement,while "An Interpretation of Chinese Cultural Symbol" has more advantages in design.In terms of the principles of the arrangement of cultural content,"An Interpretation of Chinese Cultural Symbol" is better in systematisms,authenticity and interest;in terms of practicality,the two textbooks are lacking;in terms of comparison,"The Ins and Outs of Chinese Culture" has done better.Finally,through the questionnaire and collection of foreign students’ cultural content preference and cultural content arrangement attitude,and combined with the statistics and analysis of the frequency and proportion of cultural content at different sides of Chinese culture in the two textbooks,the following suggestions for the compilation of cultural teaching materials are obtained: 1.It is necessary to increase the proportion of selection and compilation of contemporary culture.2.The proportion of communicative culture should be increased.3.It is necessary to increase the selection and compilation of cultural contents of ideas.4.We should pay attention to the overall arrangement and design of the cultural content of the textbook.5.The compilation of teaching materials should follow the principles of systematicness,authenticity,practicality,interest and comparison. |
