There are a pair of contradictions in the information dissemination in the digital internet era: on the one hand,the information overload faced by the disseminator,on the other hand,the desire of the receiver for information simplification.In a sense,the wide application of infographic design is the product of this contradiction.As a way to refine and extract data and information,infographic is widely used in various fields of society and plays an increasingly important role because it can help the audience get the most information quickly with less energy.However,there are many problems in infographic design,such as visual focus is not prominent,information bearing is jumbled,and aesthetics is insufficient,which leads to the audience’s inattention and inability to quickly and correctly interpret the text.Based on this,this subject tries to explore the design method of infographic that meets the development of the times and the needs of the society by analyzing the cognitive process and tasks of the audience’s visual thinking activities with the help of the new achievements in the theoretical and practical research of visual thinking.This paper uses literature research,case analysis,interdisciplinary research and other research methods to interpret infographic design from the perspective of visual thinking,and makes innovative thinking on scientific principles such as basic phenomena and cognitive mechanism of visual thinking.It summarizes the guiding role of cognitive mechanism of visual thinking in infographic design and the task of visual thinking in infographic visualization,and finally puts forward the path and method of visualization construction based on visual thinking.The main body of the paper includes four parts: the introduction part discusses the research background,purpose,significance,research summary,research content,innovation and so on.The second part combs the development history of infographic design vertically,clarifies the current situation,characteristics and development direction of infographic,and analyzes the problems existing in infographic design and dissemination with cases.The third part mainly expounds the relationship between infographic design and visual thinking theory,analyzes the related theories of visual thinking,analyzes the guiding role of cognitive mechanism of visual thinking in infographic design,and the main tasks of visual thinking in infographic design.The fourth part of the thesis tries to construct the emotional design structure of infographics,which includes three levels: theme level,logic level and visual level,according to the cognitive process of visual thinking from bottom to top.Among them,the construction of the theme layer determines the visualization goal from two aspects: meeting the needs of the audience and defining the core of the problem.The construction of logic layer is guided by the cognitive law of human visual thinking,emphasizing that practice should follow the steps of collecting information,deconstructing information and reconstructing information,especially layering information according to the mindset and selective attention characteristics of human attention mechanism,so as to determine the visual structure.The construction of visual layer must combine visual thinking to create a display form,and create a visual visual presentation according to human visual experience,visual process and visual salient features.
