The most outstanding achievement of Fang Zengxian’s art is figure painting.His figure painting inherits the brush and ink language of traditional literati painting and integrates the shaping techniques of Western painting language.He creatively combined western structural sketch with traditional Chinese painting,and applied the techniques of traditional Chinese flower and bird painting and landscape painting to figure painting,which greatly enriched the performance space of contemporary figure painting.Fang Zengxian’s creative practice and theoretical works have all made a milestone contribution to the exploration of ink figure painting,so it is of great significance to study his artistic strokes and modeling techniques.Fang Zengxian’s ink figure painting works are bold and unconstrained,with rich ink color and exquisite brushwork.His proposal to integrate linear sketch,flower and bird painting brush and ink techniques and ink accumulation into ink and wash figure painting has influenced the current creative practice.In addition,his innovative attitude towards brushwork and language,as well as his spirit of exploration,are worthy of deep learning and reflection by later generations.Fang Zengxian’s innovative and practical spirit encourages us to boldly explore and move forward in our daily learning.By using the literature research method and the case study method,this paper discusses the problem of the ink painting and modeling of figure painting,and uses the practical method to conduct comparative analysis and induction in the creation,so as to explore the presentation of the ink language in the creation of figure painting.The article focuses on solving the problem of using Fang Zengxian’s brush and ink language for reference in the creation of figure painting to better handle and generate images.
