The traditional classroom teaching mode is greatly influenced by time and region,and the teaching cost is high,which can not meet the growing number of Chinese learners and their learning needs.Therefore,many countries and regions in China and around the world have launched Chinese TV teaching programs with local characteristics.Since the 1990 s,domestic research on Chinese TV teaching programs has been increasing,but the research perspective mostly stays in pedagogy,and there are fewer studies related to foreign Chinese teaching programs in the field of communication.Chinese teaching program is a kind of cross-cultural communication between language and culture with the carrier of mass media.Its essence is communication.Based on Lasswell’s 5W communication model,this study takes the third season of Happy Chinese and the Japanese TV program Watching TV to Learn Chinese as the object of study,compares and analyzes them from the aspects of disseminator,communication content,media,audience and communication effect,and designs a questionnaire to understand and analyze learners’ post-viewing effects and feedback on these two programs,and then finds out the advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese and Japanese teaching programs,so as to discuss the suggestions for improvement and future development trends of Chinese teaching programs in China.The research finds that,in terms of disseminators,the Chinese language teaching platform in China should strengthen the cooperation between Chinese and foreign media,select the participants of programs,and build professional teaching teams and high-quality localized teaching programs;in terms of the communication content,unify the difficulty of teaching contents of various parts of programs,adjust the content arrangement,and coordinate the elements of language and the proportion of Chinese culture teaching;in terms of the communication media,promote the integrated development of new and old media,optimize the interactive channels,continuously follow the needs of the audience,and expand the development space of programs;in terms of the communication audience,the program production team should deeply investigate and analyze the characteristics of the audience,accurately analyze and grasp the audience;in terms of the communication effect,through the Chinese language teaching programs on TV,the audience has new knowledge of the Chinese language and Chinese culture,the learning interest and learning demand are stimulated and satisfied,and the Chinese culture,values and even society are understood and recognized.
