Many piano works are long, difficult and have a wide variety of fingering techniques. The performer should use his or her professional knowledge to study and analyse the work in order to ensure that the musical emotions are fully and accurately expressed. It is particularly important for the performer to consciously apply a logical thinking approach to practice and performance. The prelude to Debussy’s "Pour le Piano" is a work that incorporates techniques from different periods of music and is very structured and requires a high level of virtuosity on the part of the performer,so it is essential to use logical thinking in the practice and performance of this work. The first part is the introduction, which discusses the reasons for the choice of the topic and the literature review. The third part analyses the use of logical thinking in piano performance through the analysis of the prelude to the piano work "Pour le Piano",the practice method and the musical emotion;the fourth part illustrates the importance of logical thinking in piano performance through the elaboration of logical thinking to promote the play of perceptual thinking,to make the process of learning piano works more efficient and to improve the level of secondary composition. The importance of logical thinking in piano performance. On the basis of previous studies, combined with their own practical experience and feelings in the process of learning and playing, this paper expounds the importance of the combination of logical thinking and perceptual thinking throughout the practice and performance of a piano work.
