| In Chinese painting, color language,as one of the formal languages of painting,is an important means of creating mood and conveying emotion, and has always occupied a very important position in the history of painting. However, after the mid-Tang Dynasty, under the influence of Zen Buddhism, ink and wash gradually became the mainstream of Chinese painting instead of color, and since then the development of color has been in a long-lasting slump. It was not until the period of Western learning and gradual development that Western art ideas were introduced into China, and the collision and impact of Chinese and Western cultural trends brought the expressive power of color back to the forefront, and many painters began to absorb the color concepts of Western painting on the basis of inheriting traditional ink and wash expressions,to explore styles and practice color, which largely contributed to the development of color in Chinese painting. This paper focuses on Tian Liming,an ink figure painter, and uses documentary research, image analysis and empirical research to analyze and summarize the color expressions and characteristics of Tian Liming’s ink figure paintings. The main content is divided into three chapters.Chapter 1: Analyzes the background of Tian Liming’s color change from the development of color in China since modern times and Tian Liming’s personal experience in painting;analyzes the changes and characteristics of each stage of Tian Liming’s color language exploration.Chapter 2: Analyze the characteristics of color expression and the way of conveying emotion in Tian Liming’s ink figure paintings from three perspectives: color form, color technique, and color emotion,in the context of Tian Liming’s representative works.Chapter 3: Explains the inspiration given by Tian Liming’s study of color expression to the author of this paper in the creation of brush painting,as well as the author’s practice based on it,summarizing and reflecting on it in the context of his own creation. |
