The Reception And Interpretation Of Tang Monuments By The Qing People

By studying the situation of the Chongtang stele of the Qing dynasty scholars,this paper focuses on the analysis of the three representative figures in the three Qing dynasty epigraphy nodes: Wang Shu,Ruan Yuan,Bao Shichen,He Shaoji,Shen Zengzhi,Kang Youwei,Luo Zhenyu and other scholars Chongtang steles in the early Qing Dynasty,the controversy period of inscriptions in the middle of the Qing Dynasty,and the fusion period of inscriptions in the late Qing Dynasty: Wang Shu,Ruan Yuan,Bao Shichen,He Shaoji,Shen Zengzhi,Kang Youwei,Luo Zhenyu and other scholars Chongtang steles specific methods and philoscribical concepts,so as to summarize the characteristics and reasons of Chongtang steles in different periods.In the early Qing Dynasty,along the late Ming calligraphy,Dong Shu was prevalent,and the writers used the characteristics of Tang steles to be dignified and elegant,taking the law seal,and strong bones to correct the "vices" brought by the master Dong Qichang.Although theology continued to be popular in the middle of the Qing Dynasty,with the proposal of Ruan Yuan and Bao Shichen’s views of "Northern Stele" and "Southern Thee",stele calligraphy began to rise.Ruan Yuan and Bao Shichen used the Tang stele to demonstrate its compatibility with the northern stele,taking the "Tang stele" as the true source of the "northern stele",and tracing the calligraphy of the Northern Dynasty through the Tang stele.In the late Qing Dynasty,the theory of epigraphy was gradually perfected and its influence grew.At this time,a group of writers emerged,not blindly "respecting the monument and suppressing the post",but actively exploring the connection between the "stele" and "post",because the Tang stele has the compatibility of the stele and the post,and has become a bridge between the "stele" and "post" of the scholars.Through literature research,case studies,quantitative studies and other methods,this paper intends to classify and sort out Chongtang steles according to time clues,clarify how Qing dynasty scribes learned Tang steles from different angles,and deeply explore the positioning and influence of Tang steles in the hearts of Qing dynasty scholars.
