Research On The Application Of Dunhuang Buddhist Handprints In Ceramic Creation

Dunhuang art is a highly valuable historical and cultural heritage in China.The handprints of the Buddha in Dunhuang art are diverse and rich in aesthetic interest,and through the millennia,they continue to shine in the vastness of Dunhuang art.The author explores the expression of traditional Chinese cultural elements in ceramic creation through a study of Dunhuang Buddhist handprints.The application of Dunhuang Buddhist handprint elements in ceramic art creation is presented in the language of ceramics to awaken the contemporary love of rich traditional culture.In-depth excavation of the application of traditional elements in contemporary ceramic creation reflects the richness and uniqueness of ceramic creation,and provides more references for modern ceramic art design by transforming traditional language into contemporary language.This paper selects common Dunhuang Buddhist handprints,studies their artistic characteristics and decorative language,analyzes and summarizes the color,line,shape and other characteristics of their images,and adds modern elements to the creation process on the basis of extracted Dunhuang Buddhist handprints,which can better realize the integration and innovation of Dunhuang Buddhist art and ceramic art,showing the charm of combining tradition and modernity.Using Dunhuang Buddhist handprints as an element and ceramic materials as a medium,we focus on the decorative language and spiritual expression of ceramic art to create works with formal aesthetics.This project will allow more people to understand the art of Dunhuang as well as the artistic language and diverse expressions of ceramic art.
