| Since starting his literary career in 1978,Shi Tiesheng has achieved remarkable success.His works My Distant Qingping Bay and Grandma’s Stars respectively won the National Excellent Short Story Award in 1983 and 1984.Memoir of an Old House and Fractured Pen in the Gap of Illness received the inaugural Lu Xun Literature Award and the third Lu Xun Literature Award respectively.The writer Shi Tiesheng experienced a tumultuous life,and after becoming disabled in both legs,he was long plagued by illness and fought against death.In the cycle of life,he continuously confronted the inner questioning,"Why do I live?"
