Reduplication is a characteristic linguistic phenomenon. The research on the reduplication of Chinese verbs is also developing. The research on structure, semantics and grammatical functions is advancing.Different dialect regions also have different regional characteristics. This thesis takes the verb reduplication of Changzhi dialect as the research object, through systematic and comprehensive synchronic plane description and diachronic analysis, reveals the reduplication form, semantic characteristics and grammatical functions of the verb reduplication of Changzhi dialect, and further compares it with the verb reduplication of other regions, and tries to reveal the characteristics of the verb reduplication of Changzhi dialect, hoping to have a deeper understanding of the verb reduplication of Changzhi dialect. The article is divided into seven parts. The introduction part briefly summarizes the geographical history of Changzhi, summarizes the relevant research on Chinese verb reduplication, especially the verb reduplication in Shanxi dialect and the verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, and expounds the purpose, significance, innovation, research field, source of corpus, research ideas and methods of this thesis. The first chapter divides the structural forms of verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, focusing on the reduplication of monosyllable verbs and bisyllable verbs. The reduplicative forms of monosyllabic verbs include: AA form,A-A form,A-le A form;Double-syllable verb reduplication includes seven types: ABB,AAB,ABAB,AABB,XBB,XBXB and XXBB.The second chapter discusses the semantic characteristics of verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, mainly from the expression of a certain "quantity";Table tries to explore the subjectivity of meaning and semantic expression. The difference of "quantity" is reflected in the overlapping type, which can indicate both "short time and small momentum" and "long time and large quantity";When expressing the tentative meaning,it usually needs to be expressed in the form of "look, look, look, try";The subjective study of semantics is mainly reflected in three aspects: the speaker’s emotion and judgment, perspective and position, cognition and evaluation. The third chapter analyzes the grammatical features of verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, mainly from three aspects: the sentence environment in which the verb reduplication occurs, the syntactic components it acts as,and the composition and function of negation.Verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect is often found in declarative sentences, imperative sentences, rhetorical sentences and conditional sentences; Can be used as predicate and other sentence components, can be followed by an object, can also be preceded by an adverbial; It can be modified by the negative adverb "no,no(no)",and can also appear in the negative sentence pattern of "no,no,no,just".The fourth chapter compares the verb reduplication of Changzhi dialect with that of Jincheng dialect,Hanxin dialect and Putonghua dialect. In Jincheng dialect, some verb reduplications must be "er",and in terms of the difference of expression quantity,it is one more difference than that of Changzhi dialect in the temporary meaning of action; The grammatical function is very simple.Generally, only the predicate is used in the sentence.Hanxin dialect has more abundant overlapping forms than Changzhi dialect; There are two special overlapping forms,"One A One A" and "One AB One AB",which only indicate the repeated action; There can be no object and complement after the reduplicated predicate, but the structural auxiliary "na" must be added to the adverbial and complement.Putonghua lacks some verb reduplications with affixes such as "ge","hu" and "ri",which have dialect characteristics in Changzhi dialect; Its semantic features are similar to those of Changzhi dialect, but it lacks the strong subjective color of dialect; From the perspective of grammatical function, they can be used as predicate, subject, object, attribute and adverbial, but not as complement. The fifth chapter tries to make a diachronic comparison between the verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect and the verb reduplication in Yuanqu. The corpus of this chapter is selected from the Yuan Zaju in Yuanqu and Shangdang Bangzi in Changzhi area. There are two syllable verb reduplicative ABB forms in Yuanqu, which are different from Shangdang Bangzi; Some A-A forms are preceded by marked adverbs such as "temporarily" and "slightly";And sometimes "one" can be embedded in the middle of ABAB.In both operas, the overlapping type means that the time is short and the momentum is small. In the Yuan opera, the meaning of "try" and "see" usually appear, but not in the Shangdang Bangzi.Verb reduplication in Yuanqu can be used as predicate, attribute or adverbial;Transitive verbs can have objects; The AA type can be supplemented occasionally. The verb reduplication in Changzhi Shangdang Bangzi is mainly used as predicate, and the object can be added after the transitive verb. The conclusion part summarizes the verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, summarizes the special structural form, grammatical semantics and pragmatic functions of the verb reduplication in Changzhi dialect, and clarifies the areas to be improved in the synchronic and diachronic comparison of this thesis, and makes some prospects for future research.
