| As a product of the cultural exchange between Chinese and Western music,Song of the Earth has aroused the research interest of later generations with its tragic characteristics,spiritual connotation and the adaptation of Chinese poetry.The condensed and tragic nature of Mahler’s life is concentrated in this work.This paper chooses tragedy as the research point,which shows the potential of music and text to explain the tragic life course.In the process of research,the complementary artistic conception of poetry creates the aesthetic characteristics of tragedy,and clarifies the different mood of each stage.The analysis of music text further conforms to the aesthetic image and forms the emotional expression in music.The connotations of Mahler’s death in the work constantly clarify his inner desire to the audience with the help of the cycle,which deepens the tragic connotation.This paper is divided into four chapters.Based on the four classified images,a new interpretation of the composer’s creation concept is derived,and this process takes the tragedy as the main line and closely links with the theme.The first chapter is based on the background of the western era of the "Song of the Earth" to sort out the genre,the background,the definition of the tragic,comb out the causes of the tragic;The second chapter analyzes the poetry text,different artistic conception expressed different emotions,but they constitute a cycle of life experience,pointing to the tragic end;The third chapter returns to the music itself.Based on the analysis of the image of the poetry,it analyzes the tragic feelings expressed in the four aspects of musical form,orchestration,mode and harmony,and forms an interpretation of the tragic contrast through the sadness contained in the joyful music.The fourth chapter,from the perspective of "death",reflects on the "rebirth" and "cycle" throughout "The Good Earth",further deepens the audience’s emotional identification and deeply analyzes the connotation of life from the aspects of source,connotation and extension. |
