Clinical Study Of Fire Needle Combined With Zhongzhen Six Acupoints In The Treatment For Obstinate Bell Palsy

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of fire needle with in Zhongzheng six acupoints in the treatment for obstinate Bell palsy and provide new treatment options for obstinate Bell palsy.Method Seventy-four patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into nonfire needle group and fire needle group,each group had 37 cases,the non-fire needle group treated with routine acupuncture,the fire needle group added fire needle and Zhongzhen six acupoints.The treatment of fire needle was taken twice a week,four weeks for the treatment continuously.The other treatment was taken once a day,five times a week,four weeks for the treatment continuously.The House-Brackmann scale,Facial Disability Index,Hamilton Depression Scale,clinical efficacy were evaluated before treatment and after 4-week treatment.Results 1.There were 66 cases completed in the two groups,the baseline datas(including gender,age,disease duration,and lesion side)of the two groups had no statistically different(P>0.05).2.Facial nerve function: After four weeks,the difference of HB Scale in each group had statistical difference(P<0.05),the difference between two groups had statistical difference(P<0.05).3.Physical function evaluation: After four weeks,the difference of FDIP in each group had statistical difference(P<0.05),the difference between two groups had no statistical difference(P>0.05).4.Social/Well-being Function: After four weeks,the difference of FDIS in each group had statistical difference(P<0.05),the difference between two groups had statistical difference(P<0.05).5.Depression: After four weeks,the difference of HAMD in each group had statistical difference(P<0.05).the difference between two groups had statistical difference(P<0.05).6.Clinical efficacy evaluation: The total effective rate was 93.94% in the treatment group and 72.73% in the control group,the difference had statistical significant(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.Fire needle combined with Zhongzhen six acupoints and routine acupuncture can improve facial nerve function,social living standard and relieve depression effectively.2.Fire needle combined with Zhongzhen six acupoints is better than the control group in facial nerve function,social life function,depression mood improvement and clinical curative effect.
