Wine grapes of China are mainly concentrated in the arid and semi-arid areas in northwest China, and the serious shortage of water resources has become an important factor restricting the development of wine industry.Water-saving irrigation technology is widely used in the cultivation of wine grapes in northwest China. It is very important to choose water-saving irrigation methods suitable for wine grapes in Ningxia producing areas to improve the efficiency of water resources utilization and provide theoretical basis for the development of water-saving cultivation management of grape industry in Ningxia. In this experiment,four-year-old wine grape strains ’Cabernet Sauvignon 170,169’ and ’Merlot 346,348’ were used as materials.Under the same irrigation amount, the effects of infiltration irrigation and drip irrigation on leaf water potential, soil water content, root distribution, photosynthetic characteristics,SPAD value of leaves, fruit quality and yield of wine grapes were studied. The results were as follows:1.Infiltration irrigation can improve the leaf water potential of Cabernet Sauvignon 170,169 and Merlot 346,348.The soil water content of drip irrigation is higher than that of infiltration irrigation at the depth of 0-20cm,but at the depth of 20-60cm,infiltration irrigation can increase the soil water content in the deep layer and have better water retention.2.Compared with drip irrigation, infiltration irrigation is beneficial to the root growth of Cabernet Sauvignon 170,which can increase the root number and total root number with diameters less than 2 mm and 2-6mm,and infiltration irrigation is better in deep soil roots.Compared with infiltration irrigation, drip irrigation is beneficial to the root growth of Merlot 346,which can increase the number of roots with diameters less than ≤2mm and 2-6mm and the total number of roots.Infiltration irrigation can increase the number of roots with diameters greater than 6mm in Merlot roots, and infiltration irrigation performs better in deep soil roots.3.The photosynthetic characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon 170,169 and Merlot 346,348 were significantly different under the two irrigation methods. There was no significant difference in SPAD value of Cabernet Sauvignon 170 and 169 leaves under two irrigation methods. The SPAD value of Merlot 346 and 348 leaves under drip irrigation was higher than that under infiltration irrigation.4.Infiltration irrigation can increase the contents of total phenols and tannins, and decrease the contents of titratable acids, tartaric acids and malic acids in the two strains of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, among which the contents of soluble solids, fructose, glucose and total anthocyanins are different between different varieties and different strains of the same variety, which needs further study.5.Compared with infiltration irrigation, drip irrigation can improve the yield and growth potential of Cabernet Sauvignon 170,169 and Merlot 346,348.Considering the effects of two irrigation methods on water use efficiency and fruit quality of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, infiltration irrigation is more water-saving,improves deep soil moisture and promotes root growth, which is beneficial to improve the fruit quality of grapes.Cabernet Sauvignon 170 performed well under infiltration irrigation, while Merlot 346 and 348 had no obvious difference under the same irrigation method.Infiltration irrigation has broad prospects in practical production and application, which still needs further discussion.
