Actinidia arguta is a perennial deciduous vine fruit tree of kiwifruit family. It is favored by the majority of consumers because of its strong stress resistance, high economic benefits and unique flavor.Girdling is widely used in fruit trees because it can promote fruit setting, increase yield and promote fruit ripening. However, the application effect on soft jujube kiwifruit has not been reported. In order to explore the effect of Girdling on the growth and development of soft jujube kiwifruit,we conducted girdling treatment with the variety of ’Huanyou No.1’ soft jujube kiwifruit as the experimental material. The girdling effect was discussed by investigating the fruit setting rate, photosynthetic index, fruit quality and the content of secondary metabolites. The results are as follows:(1)Soft dates kiwi fruit branches girdling treatment significantly affected the chlorophyll synthesis, lower photosynthetic rate;A week before flowering girdling treatment significantly increasing fruit-bearing rate;40 days before fruit harvest girdling treatment promote the mature soft dates kiwi fruit softening, but given the girdling wound healing is not ideal that,it is not recommended in this period.(2)Girdling treatment in different periods can increase the single fruit weight of Actinidia arguta, but girdling treatment one week after flowering and 40 days before fruit harvest can significantly increase the single fruit weight.Girdling treatment had obvious effect on promoting the growth of fruit longitudinal diameter, and the fruit shape index and flatness tended to increase. One week after flowering and 40 days before fruit harvest, the maturity of the girdling treatment on the harvest day showed signs of delay, but after softening, the soluble solid content and titratable acid content of the girdling treatment group one week before flowering and one week after flowering were significantly higher than those of the control group.(3)The contents of total sugar and reducing sugar in the girdling group one week after flowering and 40 days before fruit harvest were significantly higher than those in the control and girdling group one week before flowering, while the soluble sugar in the girdling group one week before flowering was significantly higher than those in the control and other treatments. The changes of starch content and soluble sugar content were similar.(4)Girdling treatment significantly reduced the content of vitamin C in soft Actinidia arguta fruit; The accumulation of flavonoids was significantly reduced, but the effect of fruit girdling 40 days before harvest on the accumulation of flavonoids was relatively small;Girdling treatment one week before flowering had no significant effect on the accumulation of alkaloids, but girdling treatment one week after flowering and 40 days before fruit harvest significantly reduced the accumulation of alkaloids;Girdling treatment increased the synthesis of polyphenols in soft jujube kiwifruit.Girdling treatment was the most significant one week after flowering and 40 days before fruit harvest. In conclusion, girdling treatment one week before flowering can significantly improve the fruit setting rate; One week after flowering, girdling treatment could significantly promote fruit expansion, and increase the content of soluble solids, titratable acid and carbohydrate in fruit. However,in view of the impact on the content accumulation of secondary metabolites,it is hoped that the girdling technology can be used flexibly to weigh the advantages and disadvantages.
