A Study Of Modern Garment Bag Shapes And Techniques And Their Innovative Applications

The modern era is a time in the history of Chinese clothing when the past and the present were inaugurated.As an important part of clothing,the creation and development of the garment bag has undergone a process from little to much,which can provide inspiration and ideas for today’s clothing design.The production process of modern Chinese garment bags has become more complex and varied,which on the one hand reflects the changing shape of the bag itself with the fashion of the times;on the other hand reflects the development of social thought and culture which has changed the aesthetics of the people.The study of the development of the shape and craft of modern garment bags can provide a good insight into the inner development of modern clothing and witness the evolution of traditional Chinese clothing.Firstly,this paper collects and collates a large number of objects in the collection as well as pictures and historical materials from modern newspapers and magazines,and takes comprehensive measurements and collates the modern clothing objects in the collection.The modern garment bags are divided into pockets,pockets and pockets according to the craft method,and the application of pockets in modern clothing is described separately.Then,from the perspective of the structure and craftsmanship of garment bags,representative garment bag forms are selected from the collection of the Jiangnan University Folk Costume Heritage Museum,including U-shaped,square and three-dimensional pouches,single inlaid,double inlaid and box-shaped pouches,and side straight pouches,in order to provide a scientific and effective theoretical basis for the craftsmanship of modern garment bags.Finally,the changes in the social context,the spread of new clothing trends,convenience and pragmatism are further analysed in three aspects: the changes in the popularity of modern bags and their causes.Through the study of the shape and craft of the modern garment bag,it proves that the modern garment shape has changed from simple to complex,and the small object of the garment bag reflects the diversity of the public aesthetic and the openness of social and cultural concepts,reflecting in a small way the continuous improvement and innovation of the modern dress and the process of transformation towards modernisation.The development and changes of the modern garment bag have implications for the study of the history of clothing.
