Photosensitizer-based phototherapy is a precise and non-invasive treatment with theranostics effect.Phototherapy mainly includes photothermal therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT),which has become a research hotspot in the field of modern medicine.The optical properties and biocompatibility of photosensitizers can be flexibly modulated by structure design and assembly strategy to meet the efficient anti-tumor effect.Among the many organic photosensitizers used for optical therapy research,fluoroboron dipyrrole(BODIPY)and semiconductor polymers have attracted attention for their excellent optical properties.For example,BODIPY is a long wavelength absorbing Π-conjugated fluorescent dye with a diverse structure,high chemical stability,and high near-infrared light absorption ability.Single-or multi-component nanosystems of BODIPY have been widely used in biomedical therapeutic fields.Compared with small-molecule photosensitizers,macromolecule semiconductor polymers with extended Π-conjugated structure,have higher photo-stability,excellent optical properties,and less susceptible to aggregation-induced quenching effects,which are ideal NIR photosensitizers.Nanosystems based on semiconductor polymers have become a research hotspot in the field of optical diagnosis and therapy nowadays.By designing the structure and assembly of photosensitizers,their optical properties and biocompatibility can be flexibly tuned to meet the efficient anti-tumor effects.In addition,further improvement of photosensitizer-based nanoplatforms using biomimetic concept can effectively enhance their biocompatibility,tumor targeting and therapeutic effect.Therefore,we rationally designed these two photosensitizers’ structures separately,and successfully constructed organic photosensitizer-based biomimetic nanoplatforms for biological effects research.We further constructed the combined photoimmunotherapy strategies to greatly improve anti-tumor effect.
