With the premise that quality requirements for ring parts and energy-saving requirements in manufacturing process are getting higher and higher,this paper uses numerical simulation to conduct quality-oriented and energy-saving process optimization research on ring rolling process.First,according to the characteristics of ring rolling,the technological process is analyzed.The process specifications of heating,upsetting and punching are analyzed,and the basic forming process of ring rolling and the movement process of rollers are analyzed with shortcomings of each process being proposed.The standardized research of the process provides the basis for the establishment of the following simulation model.Aiming at difficult controllability and waste of resources in field tests,simulations are established for ring rolling process.The required material properties and geometric changes during manufacturing for ring are analyzed.Three-dimensional modeling of each process is carried out by using UG software to prepare for the establishment of the simulation model.Modeling of each process in Deform software is analyzed,focusing on the setting of boundary conditions and the motion conditions according to process’ s characteristic,which provide basis for process optimization.In view of multi-process of forging blank manufacturing and its non-negligible influence on ring rolling process,a quality-oriented process optimization study is carried out.The orthogonal test method is selected and then simulated began.Quality is divided into temperature quality,shape quality,grain quality and equivalent strain quality.To obtain the influence law of the process parameters on each quality,the influence ranking and the optimal process,the range analysis of the quality data of the simulation results is carried out.The significance and contribution rate of process parameters on quality were obtained by analysis of variance.After normalizing all quality indexes and assigning weights,the comprehensive quality is obtained,and the range analysis is carried out to obtain the optimal process.Considering the forming complexity and high quality requirements of ring rolling process,a quality-oriented process optimization study is carried out.Blooming temperature,idle roll’s feed speed and driving roll’s speed are selected as the optimization parameters.Then the change of ring temperature under different processes is analyzed by control variable method,which provides a certain basis for quality change.The variation trend and reasons of the inner and outer surface and upper surface quality,grain size and uniformity and equivalent strain uniformity of the ring with the process parameters are analyzed,and the best process is obtained after the quality index is normalized.Finally,for the high energy consumption of ring manufacturing process,the quality and energy-saving integrated process optimization research is carried out based on the quality process optimization research.The energy consumption composition of forging blank manufacturing and ring rolling process is analyzed.For the forging blank manufacturing process,based on the expansion of the energy consumption results of the orthogonal test,the neural network is used to fit the results to obtain the fitting results of process to quality and energy consumption,and the particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to optimize it to obtain the best process.For the ring rolling process,the control variables are used to analyze the influence of different processes on energy consumption,and the optimal process of comprehensive quality and energy consumption is obtained.
