China is in the stage of rapid urbanization,and the carbon emission of the construction industry is growing rapidly.Therefore,improving the efficiency of carbon emissions from the construction industry is a breakthrough to reduce emissions.It is of great academic value and practical significance to explore the impact of urbanization on the carbon emission efficiency of construction industry in China.On this basis,data from 30 provinces in China(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan,and Tibet)from 2010 to 2020 were used to construct a comprehensive evaluation index system for urbanization using the entropy weight method.The spatiotemporal characteristics of urbanization was analyzed.Secondly,the IPCC inventory method was used to calculate the carbon emission of the construction industry and analyze its space-time characteristics,and the super-efficiency SBM model considering the unexpected output,combined with the window analysis method,was used to calculate the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry,and its spatiotemporal characteristics were analyzed.Thirdly,it explored the correlation between urbanization and the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry,spatial Durbin panel model was used to analyze the impact of urbanization and multi-dimensional urbanization on the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry.Finally,the paper put forward some policy suggestions to promote the coordinated development of urbanization and low-carbon construction industry.The results showed that:(1)Since 2010,China’s urbanization was mainly characterized by non-agricultural population and urban spatial expansion,and the overall level was relatively high.Population urbanization lagged behind land urbanization,with non agricultural industries accounting for a relatively large proportion of the overall economy,urban construction accelerating,and social security levels continuously improving.(2)The carbon emission of the construction industry fluctuated from 2010 to 2020 and peaked in 2012,with higher emissions in the eastern and southern regions and lower emissions in the western regions.The growth rate of carbon emissions efficiency of the construction industry in the central region was higher than that in other regions,and there was a significant positive spatial correlation,spatial autocorrelation was continuously enhanced.(3)The results of bivariate Lisa Clustering showed that H-H patterns were mainly distributed in the Yangtze River Delta and Guangdong-Hunan-Hubei region,L-L type is mainly distributed in the northeast and northwest of China.In addition,urbanization in the dimensions of population,economy,and society had a positive effect on the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry in the province,while spatial urbanization and social urbanization had more significant positive effect on neighboring provinces.Energy-saving technology was an important way to improve the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry;The scale and labor efficiency of the construction industry were conducive to improving the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry,but due to the Siphon Effect,it will have adverse effects on neighboring provinces;The role of energy consumption structure and environmental regulations is not obvious.Based on the above conclusions,the following policy recommendations are proposed:(1)Deeply promote high-quality urbanization with human-centered,and promote regional coordinated development.(2)Promote low-carbon development of the construction industry in the central and western China,follow regional joint prevention and control strategies,and promote green building technology sharing and cooperation.(3)Prioritize the development of urbanization in areas with low levels of urbanization and promote coordinated development of multi-dimensional urbanization.(4)Urban renewal emphasizes may pay attention to step by step;Using clean energy to replace traditional high carbon energy;Developing and applying green energy-saving technologies;Improve labor efficiency by technical training and other means.
