Analysis Of Influencing Factors Of Natural Gas Consumption Based On PLS-SEM

As a kind of clean energy,natural gas is widely used in various fields such as industry,transportation,and life.In order to increase the consumption of natural gas and better promote the development of natural gas,it is necessary to have a comprehensive and indepth understanding of the influencing factors of natural gas consumption.There are few studies on the influencing factors of consumption,so this paper made a systematic quantitative study on the influencing factors of natural gas consumption.Firstly,the development status of natural gas was described in detail from two aspects of natural gas’ s supply and consumption.Then,this paper introduced the theory of the Structural Equation Model and the algorithm principle used in the model’s analysis.The latent variables and manifest variables of natural gas consumption’s influencing factors were proposed,and the reasonable assumptions were made.Next,the Structural Equation Model of natural gas consumption’s influencing factors was established by using Smart PLS software,and the empirical analysis was completed by using the relevant data of all provinces in China from 2017 to 2019.The results showed that the sociodemographic factors and natural gas power generation factors had a direct positive impact on natural gas consumption,and the former had a stronger impact;Industrial development had great influence on the economic factors;Economic factors had a strong positive effect on the sociodemographic factors and natural gas power generation factors,and then promoted natural gas consumption.Finally,suggestions were put forward,such as strengthening natural gas power generation,promoting the policy of "replacing coal with gas" and developing heating in southern China,which could provide reference for the formulation of natural gas consumption policies.
