| World Heritage is a heritage site and natural landscape with outstanding universal value,which is considered an irreplaceable treasure.Xi Jinping pointed out at the 44 th Heritage Conference that World Natural Heritage is an important achievement in the development of human civilization and natural evolution and is also an important vehicle for promoting exchange and mutual appreciation among civilizations.In 2019,National Forestry and Grassland Administration accepted the nomination of Huangguoshu Scenic Area for the World Natural and Cultural Heritage project,and Huangguoshu Scenic Area was inscribed on World Heritage Tentative List for meeting criteria v,vii,and viii.To support the inscription of the Huangguoshu Scenic Area,this study carries out research on the natural beauty of karst landscapes,which is of great significance in promoting the aesthetic value of karst landscapes and aesthetic conservation.From the perspectives of landscape architecture,geography and World Heritage theory,natural beauty and aesthetic value of the landscape,and heritage conservation,and based on reference to world heritage criteria vii,the study addresses the evaluation of the aesthetic value of karst landscapes,the overly subjective nature of landscape evaluation subjects,the global comparative analysis of landscape aesthetics,the aesthetic value of karst landscapes conservation,and other issues.In 2020-2023,the Huangguoshu Scenic Area was selected as the study area to study the landscape types,landscape structure,landscape features,and aesthetic value of different karst landscapes through field interviews,data collection,analogical methods,and expert consultation.According to the "analogy method" proposed by the IUCN,we divided the sites into three levels: World Heritage Site,Nominated Site,and non-heritage Site,to demonstrate the World Heritage value of the Huangguoshu Scenic Area in terms of landscape aesthetics;to identify the threats to the outstanding universal value of the Huangguoshu Scenic Area in terms of aesthetic and propose some recommendations for the conservation and management.Aesthetic conservation design for natural landscapes in Huangguoshu Scenic Area to reveal the aesthetic value of karst landscapes,to provide scientific and technological support for the development of karst landscape aesthetics research.1.By analyzing the karst landscape and aesthetic values,it was found that they are closely related.Huangguoshu Scenic Area has developed and preserved a complete and diversified karst landscape series,constructed and evolved into a natural landscape with diverse types and structures,various aesthetic elements,and obvious spatial and temporal features.which provides a basis for the subsequent argumentation on the aesthetic value of the landscape in the Huangguoshu Scenic Area.2.By conducting a global comparative analysis of karst landscapes,it was found that the Huangguoshu Scenic Area is exemplary and typical in terms of landscape types and landscape features.Based on the "analogy method" proposed by the IUCN,a global comparison was made between the Huangguoshu Scenic Area and the World Heritage Sites,World Heritage nomination sites,and non-heritage sites from the perspective of aesthetic value.Based on the 26 World Heritage sites selected based on ’karst’ and ’criteria vii’,9 World Heritage Sites were selected based on ’waterfalls’,’gorges’,and’cone-karst’.7 World Heritage-nominated sites and 10 non-heritage sites were also selected on the same basis.By analyzing the ecological context of landscape evolution and the aesthetic features of the landscape between the comparison sites,it was determined that the Huangguoshu Scenic Area meets the criteria vii.3.By analyzing the factors influencing the aesthetic value and the current situation of conservation management within the Huangguoshu Scenic Spot.It is found that the influencing factors are mainly divided into two parts: natural disasters and human interference,and there is no conservation planning for the geological landscape,insufficient conservation awareness among community residents,and tourism pressure in the scenic area.In response to these problems,recommendations were made to establish a system to deal with natural disasters,strengthen biological monitoring,enhance the promotion of conservation among residents,scientifically plan the display area of the landscape,and make aesthetic designs for the landscape. |
