With the design trend of the next generation multiprocessor system chips,the network on chip needs the integration of thousands of processing devices,which requires high-performance devices to guarantee high throughput and low latency communication.Traditional network-on-chip uses electrical signals to transmit information,and the interface performance between electrical signals has a strong limit on the information transmission rate of network-on-chip,which may affect the power consumption after network cascade.Optical Network on Chip(ONoC)has large channel capacity,high data transmission rate and low energy consumption,which is a promising solution compared with traditional electrical interconnection.In the highly integrated optical network on chip,photonic devices are an indispensable part in the design of optical network on chip,such as micro-ring resonator,electro-optic modulator,filter,optical switch and so on.However,when they are used in on-chip networks,they have some problems,such as large size,large insertion loss and low modulation rate.To solve the above problems,two micro-nano devices are designed in this paper:optical switch and electro-optical modulator.In this paper,the two devices based on surface plasmon are integrated and applied to the optical on-chip network,so as to realize the on-chip router with higher integration.In this paper,the characteristics of surface plasmon are mainly studied,and the voltage of charged carrier layer of ITO is tuned by finite difference time domain algorithm,so that the real part of dielectric constant of the layer is zero,thus the surface plasmon polariton mode is excited at the interface between ITO material and dielectric.Then,the parameters of the device structure model are optimized to obtain the best structure model parameters,and then the performance parameters of the designed optical switch and electro-optic modulator are analyzed.The specific contents include:(1)An optical switch structure based on surface plasmon is proposed,and the structural parameters and mechanism of the optical switch are studied theoretically;(2)A directional coupled on-chip electro-optic modulator is constructed by using a straight waveguide and a 90-degree micro-loop,and the device realizes high-speed switching between ON and OFF states.By improving the voltage application method,the characteristics of network electro-optic modulator on optical chip are studied(3)The two micro-nano devices are innovatively integrated into the on-chip optical interconnection network,and the optical switch "honeycomb" router architecture based on surface plasma and ORNoC system based on on-chip electro-optic modulator are designed respectively.Comparing the device parameters designed by scholars recently,the insertion loss of the optical switch designed in this paper is 2.1d B higher than other optical switch devices when the voltage is 2.35 V and the incident wavelength is 1550 nm,the power consumption of the optical switch is 5.7f J lower than other optical switch devices,and the modulation rate of the optical switch is 2Tbits/S higher than other optical switch devices.When the voltage of the designed modulator is 2.35 V and the incident wavelength is 1550 nm,the coupling transmission distance of the modulator is the smallest,the extinction ratio is15.2d B higher than other modulator devices,the insertion loss is 1.2d B higher than other modulators,the power consumption of the modulator is 5.7f J lower than other modulator devices,and the modulation rate of the modulator is 0.75Tbits/S lower than other modulator devices.In this paper,the coupling distance is improved based on the optical switch,and the insertion loss is reduced and the modulation rate is increased in the modulator.By using the designed micro-nano devices of on-chip network and further realizing the integration of optical devices in on-chip network,the exploratory research of new optoelectronic devices on on-chip router is carried out.It provides technical reference for the design of integrated network-on-chip optical interconnection system with small size,fast operation speed and super compactness.
