| Mathematics is the study of the relationship between form and quantity in space.The abstract nature of mathematics itself is easy to make people bored;The rigor of mathematics tends to be boring;The logic of mathematics makes people feel "out of reach".These stereotypes cause some students to be uninterested in mathematics,unwilling to actively explore mathematical knowledge,and even avoid mathematical learning.How to improve students’ interest in mathematics,help them understand mathematical thinking,use mathematical knowledge,and enter the world of mathematics has become an urgent problem to be solved.Because of its unique interest,innovation and interaction,game teaching has entered the field of vision of mathematics education practitioners and researchers.By creating a variety of game situations and setting up game content with different difficulties,game teaching catches students’ attention,improves their interest in learning,and cultivates students’ mathematical literacy in the process of solving game problems.So what is the current situation of mathematics game teaching? What’s the problem? How should it be resolved? This becomes the problem that this research tries to explore.In this study,156 primary school mathematics teachers from 15 different types of schools in 5 districts of Urumqi,Xinjiang were surveyed,and the self-compiled "Questionnaire on the Current Situation of Mathematics Game Teaching in Primary Schools" was used for investigation and research.Through descriptive statistics,difference analysis and Chi-square test analysis to understand the current situation of primary school mathematics game teaching,find the existing problems.Based on the questionnaire survey,10 teachers were selected to conduct semi-structured interviews in order to explore the causes of the problems.At the same time,two months of research practice and non-participatory observation were used to observe the real math game teaching classes in primary schools as supplementary materials for questionnaires and interviews.Based on the questionnaire data,interviews and observation results,this paper analyzes and summarizes the existing problems and their causes in primary school mathematics game teaching,and puts forward the strategies to improve the quality of primary school mathematics game teaching.The research found that there are the following problems in primary school mathematics game teaching: 1.Teachers’ understanding of mathematics game teaching is not comprehensive;2.Lack of innovation and sameness in game teaching design;3.the implementation of game teaching classroom chaos,the effect is not good;4.game teaching evaluation basis scattered,lack of effectiveness.The main reasons for the above conclusions are as follows:1.There is a stereotype in teachers’ teaching concepts;2.Teachers’ professional ability needs to be improved;3.Inadequate classroom supervision ability of teachers;4.School conditions restrict the implementation of mathematics game teaching;5.The exam-oriented education atmosphere limits the development of game teaching evaluation.Based on the research conclusion and analysis of the reasons,this paper puts forward the improvement strategies of primary school mathematics game teaching: 1.Change the teacher’s concept and accept the game teaching;2,according to the characteristics of mathematics,refine the teaching design;3,strengthen classroom management,orderly teaching process;4.Pay attention to the process evaluation and the development of students’ thinking. |
