In the "Guidelines for Kindergarten Education(Trial)",it is clearly pointed out that children are the participants in the evaluation of kindergarten education.However,in kindergartens,when we mention evaluation,we generally evaluate the management of kindergartens,the professional qualities and abilities of preschool teachers.As for the valuation and teacher evaluation of children,there are few about children as the main body.Even if there are researches about children’s evaluation ability,they are mainly based on children’s self-evaluation,few on children’s evaluation ability of others.A child is an independent individual with subjective initiative bearing his own thoughts and opinions.Under the current background of highlighting "children as the main body",paying attention to the evaluation ability of children should become an important content of respecting and developing children.This research uses picture books teaching as a carrier,through intensive reading of picture books with children,to inspire and guide children to evaluate the characters in picture books,so as to improve the ability of children to evaluate the characters in picture books.In order to accurately understand the evaluation ability of children,this research analyzes the ability of children to evaluate the characters in picture books from the three aspects: evaluation language,evaluation angle and evaluation accuracy,and gradually improves children’s evaluation ability through seven rounds of action research.The research is divided into four chapters: introduction,research design,implementation of action research,research conclusions and suggestions.The first round of research of children’s evaluation ability of picture book characters shows that children’s evaluation language is general,less evaluative vocabulary,and incomplete sentences;the evaluation angle is single and not comprehensive enough;the accuracy of evaluation is contradictory,short of evidence,and not rigorous.Through the seven rounds of action research,the vocabulary of evaluation become richer and more diverse.Children can express consciously and completely,and the sentences become more logical and coherent;the angle of evaluation is increasing;the accuracy of evaluation is improving.However,there are still a small number of young children with average evaluation ability,which requires a cumulative process.On the whole,children’s evaluation ability is spiraling up,which shows that picture books are an effective carrier to carry out research on children’s evaluation ability;enlightening guidance and critical thinking are effective strategies to improve children’s evaluation ability.The research suggestions include suggestions for follow-up research and suggestions for teachers,among which the suggestions for follow-up research are: 1.Comparative experimental research;2.Using other means to improve children’s evaluation ability.Suggestions for teachers: 1.Have the ability to choose appropriate picture books;2.Have the ability to read picture books intensively;3.The ability to transform picture books into effective problems;4.Have the ability to solve the questions and answers of young children with tact;5.Have the ability to induce and recognize the process and results of picture book teaching;6.Having the refining capacity for the children’s evaluation ability.
