| Returnees are an important force of industrial entrepreneurship and scientific research innovation in Guangzhou.Local adaptation plays an important role in the innovation of returned talents in Guangzhou,especially returned teachers in Guangzhou Universities.In the research of homecoming adaptation,scholars are mostly concerned about the characteristics of homecoming adaptation,the main obstacles and difficulties of homecoming adaptation and the countermeasures.In terms of research methods,researchers mostly use qualitative research design,mainly in-depth interviews.Guided by the theory of social capital,this study took 23 young returnees from three universities in Guangzhou who had returned to China for 2-10 years as the research objects to explore the academic adaptation of young returnees teachers.Through qualitative design,this study explores the structural characteristics of the work-related relationship network owned by young returnee teachers,the relationship strategies used by young returnee teachers to adapt to the academic environment in Chinese mainland,and the results of resource acquisition caused by the use of relevant relationship strategies by young returnee teachers.The results show that the relationship networks of young returnees include strong organizational relationship,strong personal relationship,organization-private superposition relationship,weak organizational relationship and weak personal relationship.From the perspective of the distribution of the relationship network,there is a structural dislocation in the relationship network of young returnees teachers.The structural misplacement of the relationship network can be seen as follows: returnees rely on strong relationships endowed by their learning and working organizations;foreign strong relationships cannot play a role in the domestic academic circle or play a small role;heavy teaching and administrative tasks make it difficult for returnees to develop private weak relationship networks.Through the network,returnees can obtain information,form academic trust and get the support of key figures.In this study,in order to overcome the problem of structural dislocation of relationship network,young returnees teachers adopted such strategies as letting nature take its course,expanding social network and changing relationships.Among them,letting nature take its course is the strategy adopted by most young returnees teachers.Based on the above research findings,the author puts forward the following suggestions:1.University institutions and organizations should give some social support to returnees.According to comparing young returnees teachers depend on the organization of the characteristics of strong relation network,young returnees teachers in academic adaptation to college institutions give support and help in the process,which includes strengthening college internal group communication,teachers and peers outside academic conference,help young returnees teachers develop contacts networks.2.According to this phenomenon,the strong network accumulated by young returnees during their doctorate or master’s degree is located abroad,which makes their academic network can’t play a role in the domestic academic circle or plays a small role in the domestic academic circle.The management level of colleges and universities should further promote the internationalization of academic management,which will enable young returnees teachers to make better use of the strong foreign network accumulated during their doctorate or master’s degree. |
