| Due to the rapid development of modern society,employers have paid more and more attention to the vocational abilities of applicants when recruiting in recent years.However,because of some shortcomings of students of secondary vocational schools such as their young age,immaturity and relative insufficient academic education,they are easily at a disadvantaged position in the employment market.So that it requires secondary vocational schools should not only teach students theoretical knowledge,but also cultivate their professional core competence,with which they are able to adapt to work and obtain occupational skills,so that these schools can help students increase competitiveness in employment and achieve sustainable development in work.How to effectively teach in the class in vocational schools is also a problem that has puzzled teachers for a long time.Because of characteristics of secondary vocational students,many of them fail to forester good learning habits and they show a lack of enthusiasm for participating in class.The traditional teaching mode mainly based on lectures of teachers is difficult to effectively play a role in secondary vocational schools.Therefore,it is necessary to explore a new teaching model which can not only arouse students’ active participation in class,but also improve the effect of teaching.The course of Marketing Basics is the first professional class for Marketing major students in secondary vocational schools.Out of freshness and curiosity,students are more likely to show a high motivation of learning in this course and the application of PAD Class model might bring a positive effect on their development of career,the formation of good learning habits and it further cultivates students’ core professional competence.The PAD Class is a teaching model that focuses on the cultivation of thinking ability and exploration spirit of students by changing traditional teaching steps in the class.This model incorporates personalized internalization,absorption and class discussion,which greatly improves students’ participation and cultivates their professional core competence when students interact with teachers and do tasks.Therefore,this thesis attends to discuss the application of PAD Class that how it cultivates students’ professional core competence in the course Marketing Basics.First of all,questionnaires and interviews towards to secondary vocational schools and employment companies are adopted.The thesis explores what kind of professional core competencies should be cultivated in the course of Marketing Basics and summarizes five categories,the ability of language expression,the ability of teamwork,the ability of interpersonal communication,the ability of information collection and handling and the ability of autonomous learning.Secondly,this thesis conducts a questionnaire survey on students of Marketing major of secondary vocational schools and this survey proves that a fine adaptability of students is shown to the process and characteristics of PAD class.Besides,it also uses theoretical analysis to design teaching steps,which concludes the part of teachers’ lectures,the part of students’ after-class absorption and the part of in-class discussion.Finally,this thesis employs a comparative method to select two classes as an experimental class and a control class in a vocational school in Guangxi.The two classes are tested before and after and then the data are closely compared to verify the effect of PAD Class on the cultivation of students’ professional core competence.After measurement and comparison,it is found that students trained with PAD Class model in the experimental class have been significantly improved in professional core competence in five dimensions,compared with those in the control class without the training.The experiment proves that PAD Class mode is effective for the cultivation of students’ professional core competence.The research is based on three aspects,the connotation of professional core competence,the design of the teaching process of PAD class and the feasibility of PAD Class.It comes up with an idea that secondary vocational schools should cultivate students’ professional core competence and it uses the Marketing Basics course as a case study to design the teaching steps.After a comparative experiment,the finding is that the PAD Class model can be successfully applied to the Marketing Basics course in secondary vocational schools and students’ professional core competence are significantly improved in all dimensions. |
