| Based on the background of the mobile Internet,social applications are widely used in undergraduates,which will have an important impact on the psychosocial adaptation of undergraduates.Many of the researchers concerned about the relationship between social applications and undergraduates’ depression,but the results of previous studies are not consistent.This study takes QQ as an example and uses the intensity as an indicator to further explore this issue.Social applications are important tools and platforms to maintain interpersonal relationships.However,in the previous studies,social applications have paid less attention to the interpersonal relationships of undergraduates.Therefore,this study will examine the main interpersonal relationship of undergraduates-classmate relationship,the protective factor of individual psychosocial adaptation-self-esteem,and examine whether they can mediate the relationship between undergraduates’ QQ use and depression,and whether they can act as a chain intermediary to further clarify the relationship between QQ use and depression,and its internal mechanism of action.To contribute to how social applications can promote the mental health of undergraduates.This study adopted the method of cluster sampling,selected 1554 students from first grade to fourth grade of a university in Shandong province,using the social network sites intensity scale,classmate relationship scale,self-esteem scale and CSE-D.A total of 1451 valid questionnaires were collected to explore the relationship between undergraduates’ QQ use intensity,classmate relationship,self-esteem and depression.Using SPSS22.0,AMOS22.0 software to process data and statistical analysis,the following results were obtained:(1)QQ use intensity is positively correlated with classmate relationship,positively correlated with self-esteem,and negatively correlated with depression.Classmate relationship is positively correlated with self-esteem and negatively correlated with depression.Self-esteem is negatively correlated with depression.(2)There are significant gender difference and grade difference in QQ use intensity,girls are higher than boys,while seniors are lower than other grades.There is significant gender difference in classmate relationship,girls scored higher than boys.There is significant grade difference in depression,the depression of freshmen is lower than that of other grades.(3)Classmate relationship plays an intermediary role between QQ use intensity and depression.(4)Classmate relationship and self-esteem play a full intermediary role between QQ use intensity and depression. |
