With the deepening of economic globalization and development of the Internet, the cross-border online shopping(CBOS)has become a trend of the times.Due to the differences between domestic and overseas products and the conveniences of buying foreign goods on the Internet, consumers are increasingly inclined to CBOS.Without doubts on the conveniences and other positive effects CBOS brings to people’s life, consumers are easy to lose their deserved rights and interests in it,however. This is in fact a disadvantage decided by the nature of cross-border e-commerce.Thus,how to protect the rights and interests of consumers in individual CBOS still remains a question. In this paper, under the consumer’s perspective, methods like the literature research method, the comparative analysis method, and case analysis method are taken to investigate an appropriate way of the rights-and-interests protection in CBOS.Besides, the problems involved in the existing approaches and where to go in the future are also studied for the effective protection of the consumers’ legitimate rights and interests.More concretely, the concepts and classification of the types of individual CBOS are first defined by the comparison of the differences between the individual CBOS and the ordinary domestic online shopping, and the analysis of the common types of disputes under different CBOS modes. This lays a foundation for the follow-up exploration of consumer rights protection.Secondly, introduction and analysis of the existing domestic and foreign legislation in the field of consumer rights protection are given, based on which the pros and cons of possible solutions are concluded. The problems existed in current approaches are pointed out as well.Last but not least, two methods are proposed to solve these problems, which are to establish and improve a new online dispute resolution mechanism and to continue optimizing the traditional approaches.Concrete suggestions for the implementation of these two methods are also given, hoping for the improvement on the cross-border consumer rights protection system in our country, the maintenance of the normal transaction order in individual CBOS,and the effective protection of the rights and interests of consumers.
