A Study On The Influence Of Tianjin Municipal Museum Of Fine Arts On Modern Tianjin Cultural Life

Tianjin became the only city in north China with a multinational concession after the port was opened.With the dumping of commodities,the introduction of European and American lifestyles and cultures,Tianjin’s cultural life was influenced by the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures and multiple factors,it is gradually becoming open and inclusive in its social context.Under this special historical background,the Tianjin Municipal Art Museum has played an important role in spreading the new culture in the period of social transformation.Based on the analysis of the exhibitions and art education activities held by the Tianjin Municipal Museum of Fine Arts,and on the basis of various archival materials and edited publications,combined with the news about the Tianjin Municipal Museum of Fine Arts published in newspapers and periodicals,in the light of the social conditions at that time,this paper analyzes the influence of Tianjin Municipal Museum of Fine Arts,as a public cultural institution open to the public,on the cultural life of modern Tianjin in the process of social transformation from tradition to modernity.Through the research,we can get the important significance of public cultural institutions such as art museum and Museum in the process of modern Chinese society changing from tradition to modernity.These public cultural institutions,which marked the entry of the society into the modern threshold,and the simultaneous emergence of newspapers,radio and other media affected the cultural life of the citizens,and assumed the role of “Opening the wisdom of the people”and promoting social progress.
