| As an important part of the Chinese cultural curriculum system as a foreign language,the Overview of China is a window for international students to systematically understand China’s national conditions and perceive Chinese traditional culture.It is of great significance for them to understand the connotation of Chinese culture and improve the quality of their cross-cultural communication.However,due to its wide range of content coverage,large amount of cultural information,and strong theoretical nature,it brings a certain degree of difficulty in understanding and fear of difficulty for learners.In order to solve this problem,it is urgent to explore teaching methods that can improve its teaching effect and meet the learning needs of learners.This article is based on a survey of the teaching of Overview of China in the three professional classes of Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College,comprehensively using questionnaire survey methods,observation methods,and interviews to verify the necessity of applying Chinese documentary films to the teaching of Overview of China in this school.Through the study of the content of the Chinese documentary,it is found that it has the distinctiveness and hierarchy of cultural themes,the communicative nature and relative authenticity of the content,the balance and diversity of narrative methods,and the integration and innovation of communication channels.Features,combined with audio-visual teaching method,cultural adaptation model,Krashen’s input hypothesis and constructivist learning theory,demonstrates the feasibility of its application in general courses from two aspects: theme and language.At the same time,it also discussed its selection criteria and application principles,including language standards,moderate difficulty;typical subject matter,strong pertinence;fresh content,practical and interesting three selection criteria and scientific,dominant,and moderate.Based on the three principles of application,teaching practice was carried out on the basis of the feature documentary "Brilliant China" supplemented with the theme of "Entering the New Era".Finally,based on student feedback and teaching reflections,three teaching suggestions are put forward: improving the media literacy of teachers,paying attention to cultural differences and cultural conflicts,and building a media resource database for China’s catch-up course.This research is a useful attempt to assist the teaching of the Overview of China with a feature documentary,and to a certain extent enriches the related research on the application of film and television listening resources to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,and promotes the teaching effect of the Overview of China and the improvement of student participation in the classroom.Provided a solution. |
